hey purge can u take a look at this movie i ripped out of spc5 p2.i had to modify the audio alittle with an adio editor cause there was 2 songs stuck as one song.when i encoded the movie i made the quality as low as possible just in case u have dial up.its the ending movie with audio.heres a link,right click and on click save as to save to hard disk

you did a great job. in case you didnt know, the intro movie is inside of makuma.afs along with the report intros and a plethora of other goodies, but sound is stored inside title.afs.if you got aim ill help you subtitle the movie if you want : ).

 

edit: after reading your post on the other board, i suggest you take that movie down till its encoded with something else... giving out files that program generates could cause unnessecary attention. I put up a worthy recommendation on the other site : ). Ims ure youll find it much better in any respect to the program you used. Especially a 2pass vbr encoding

i recommend you break the files out of their afs container and then load the adx files up in winamp using a disk writer plugin. Worked very well for my purposes and allowed me to do batches of files at once.

i tried hosting a media peice there once (video of top dub on TV) and got a nice little email with bandwidth 101 and the wonders of banner ads... suffice it to say, I had to take it down.

watch code works, though in order to test different aspects you may be forced to play poorly. as for making it self boot, be able to transfer the games files to the PC, apply patches/replace certain ones, then get it to burn back to a disc and be able to play it.

I would like to announce I need 2 individual people who own a dreamcast to test the project for BETA TESTING. I have one tester already, though he is VERY helpful, he has other obligations. These testers should:

A) Have their own copy of the game, (100% prefered original game)no anti-piracy checks will be made on the beta test patches, because the game on dreamcast is indeed rare.

Have AOL instant messanger to be in contact with me

C) Have a way of submitting photographical content to me

D) Know how to create selfbooting dreamcast images

E) Have a good sense of rhythm and quick eye to watch for subtitles..

Testing Duties will involve:

A) Localization help

Script Formatting

C) Voice actor selection (part of A) (if we get any volunteers)

And yes I have a laptop that is going in for repairs and my 486 currently running win3.1 as I was attempting to do something for gideon but then kinda.. fell behind on it not to mention I need to get it a new power supply. DC++ sounds like a good idea, however mind you I run, host, and manage a Ragnarok Online Server and its not fair to shut it down for more than a few days and it runs windows 2003 and ive had trouble making DC load on it. Bit Tornado, however, works great with it. The text patch however I can promise will be small. Audio on the other hand is gonna be somewhat big and video, torrents will have to suffice. The sad truth is though, that someone who owns the game is more likely than not, gonna patch it, though that doesnt mean after its torrented someone cant stick it on DC++. : )

as I said, the translation will be fully customizable. If you dotn want the english voices, simply uncheck them.

all parts of the translation will be toggleable. Meaning you want japanese voices? Uncheck dub the voices. You want japanese text and english voices? Uncheck translate text.

Provided I can get some assistance subtitleiung the movies (I cant edity video for squat) I DO plan on distributing it via torrent though seeding will only be for a few days. I will need webspace if I do any more but I will not upload it because of legal matters. The patching program will require the user to own the JAPANESE DREAMCAST Manual. We plan to put out a translated manual as well. However questions will refer to specifics like what is the first english word on page four. I've decided to stop scanning for modded 1st_read.bin files. Any other questions I would be happy to answer.
