  1. btw, it should be noted that newer CFW's require a 1.50 kernel addon in order to run games/emus in kernel 1.50 mode. The required addon should be on DAX's page.

    OK. So I tried to get the 1.5 kernel for my FW, but when I try to run it, it tells me that "this program only for 3.90 M33"

    What the hell! This is what I'm using! Anyone know what's up?

  2. Guys use POPS Loader to load old PortablePlayStation versions without needing to downgrade.

    Uh...I don;t want to sound like an idiot, but I'm not really sure what to do with that. I'm sure a lot of this stuff is pretty easy to figure out if I messed around with it a bit, but I'm just worried after hearing so many stories about crashing and bricking. The only real issue I've got now is that I cannot for the life of me get SNES9x to work. I've tried a dozen different versions in all the various game folders, and still nothing! Am I missing something?

  3. The files need to be in a folder with a short name (try and keep it real short, no spaces), inside your PSP/GAME folder.

    That error is almost always to do with the files not being int he right place.

    Thanks. I think I just had the file in the wrong folder...

    Off topic a bit, but I'm trying to get various emulators running. When i get the emulator, and un-rar it, there are both 1.0 and 1.5 versions. Using the FW I'm running, which should I use? They keep coming up as "data corrupted."

  4. Well, I finally got a PSP. One of the things I'm most looking forward to doing is playing all my old PS1 games on the go. I'm curious about multi-disk games though. How does disc changing work? I don't want to play all the way through the first disc of a game only to realize that that's as far as I'll get to go.

  5. I've had an R4DS for a few months now, and it was working great, but newer games claim they cannot load/read the card. I know that the games are on the card correctly, since each error message is unique to the non-working games. The two in particular are Contra 4 and Ninja Gaiden DS. Is there like new software I need for newer games? Or has Nintendo finally wised up and offered some protection against flash cards?

  6. I'm thinking about getting a PSP an had a question about the emulation. If I want to play GBA and SNES games, do I need to be running a CFW? Also, I know that SNES emu is iffy at best, but how does GBA emulation perform? Also, do I need to use a CFW to play any PSP games that I get off the net. (In fact, is that even possible, even with a CFW?)

  7. Basically how it works is this;

    You 'downgrade' to version 1.50. Then, you install a Custom Firmware, which mostly needs 1.50 to install. Custom Firmwares are based on real Sony firmwares and let you use games that require those.

    For example, if you installed 3.50 M33, you can play games that require upto 3.50. Same goes for lower or higher CFWs. The current highest is based on 3.71, and work on a 3.80 CFW is currently underway.

    So yeh, you can have a homebrew PSP and still run the latest games if you have the latest CFW.

    Can you then upgrade straight from CFW 3.50 to 3.71 or a higher version, or would you have to downgrade back to 1.5 then upgrade?

  8. I'm new to the whole flashcard thing, so bear with me. I Just bought a R4DS. I'm in over my head with the whole slot-1 slot-2 passme flashme stuff. With the R4DS will I need anything to play NDS games (other than a MicroSD card of course)? Also, can I play GBA roms with this, or will I need a seperate device?
