Integrated soundcards are are really good nowadays, and most of my friends have integrated sound and I have not experienced any bad sound when watching videos, playing games etc. etc.... and it always beats having an intergrated video card.

Kanti: I think the exchange rate is 1,2 or something similar now. 1 $ = ~1,2 €

I'm not sure though.

Never heared of VIA's current chipsets? Or the nForce? Man, those to onboard sound chipsets own. (and you know, an ATi 9100 Pro as onboard video is badass as well). As much as my onboard owns, it doesn't support my speaker setup because my speaker setup requires 2 slots for Back and Front Speakers while the onboard requires a single cable to hook onto. But at least I got Digital Out  I can hook this baby to my Big surround sound system upstairs. Now, if I wasn't lazy to do it.

I recommend using an PCI network card then onboard for various unknown reasons.

Good for you sir. And Agozer, arent you the guy who was stuck with a Pentium 1-era PC (No offense :D )? My specs are very quickly becoming obsolete but for low-end emus (w/o filters) it gets the job done:

Dell Dimension 4400

Microsoft Windows XP Home SP1

Pentium 4 @ 1.6 Ghz

Intel Pendleton D845PT (Mobo)

Intel Brookdale i845D (chipset)

640 MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM

16 MB ATi Rage 128 Ultra AGP 4x

Integrated Sound (with SoundMAX audio driver)

20 GB,7200 RPM,Ultra ATA/100 HD

LG 16x/10x/40x CD-RW drive

Needless to say, i wont be playing any Doom 3 on my specs anytime soon :P If only i had the "funds" to upgrade my system.............

Well yes...

My current specs:

Intel Pentium 200 Mhz MMX

32MB RAM

8 GB HDD (the old one was 3 GB, but it got borked)

ATi 3D Rage Pro + RealVision Flash 3D Voodoo 1

SoundBlaster Vibra 16X

NEC CD-ROM 16x

HP CD-Writer Plus 8100i 4x/2x/24x (Cost a fortune when I bought it roughly 5-6 years ago)

Iomega ZIP 100 external drive

Windows 98

And... DirectX 5 (tops)

How's that for a gamer's dream? Yeah right. :D

My new rig doesn't have a floppy drive.
