did you make a folder in the rom folder for it?

I.E. kilinst2 -> Place CHD in there and keep the zip in the main rom folder

yeah i did. it runs to the point where it shows the loading screen where itll go down the list and say 'ok' after it checks each thing. it says konami 2000 at the top and is ready to play but fails to load.

although i do get this before i run it in the comand prompt

858jaa11.chd WRONG CHECKSUMS

WARNING: game my not run correctly

im thinking it has to do with that. i dont know i downloaded it off of supernova, and then found the zip off of romnation.net

any help would be appreciated. thanks

The CRCs don't match. Thats your problem, sorry, I don't know how to fix that.

you have to convert it from hdcomp to chdman...you have to use a conversion tool by using the command line...but since I don't play any of the games that have chd's, I wouldn't know how to convert

Well To Fix That You need To Update Your CHD With CHD Man And The.Md5 File. Got To Retroroms And Get The MD5 File, Mame.net to Get The Chdman In The Binary Zip Of MAME. Go To This Topic:

http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7350

Read My Last Post And It Will Tell You How To Update The CHD.

awesome thank you so much.

i found this, i dont know if this is what you were talking about doing

http://www.jbowers.com/mame/chdman.htm

other than that i really dont know what to do. i have the md5 files and the chds, and chdman, i just dont know what to type into the command prompt because apparently its looking for a chd file instead of a md5 or something.

i dont know what im doing can you explain it step by step please. thanks

Yep Thats Pretty Much What I'm Talking About.

Lets Look At This Picture To Help Show You How To Use CHDMan:

chdman1.gif

Here Are The Steps:

1. Get Chdman.exe And The Md5 File In The Same Folder.

2. Open Command Prompt, Start-->Run-->cmd-->OK

3. Type In Chdman.exe's Directory Or Drap And Drop.

4. Get Rid Of The " If There Is One After The Directory

5. Type In " -update" After Chdman.exe (With Space)

6. Press Space

7. Drap And Drop Original CHD

8. Press Space

9. Then Type In The Directory You Want The New Chd To Be, For Example For Area51:D:\Emulation\Roms\area51\newarea51.chd

-If you Put The 2 CHDs In The Same Folder Make The New CHD A Differnt Name Besides Like For Area51.chd, Make It Named Something Like newarea51.chd, This Is So It Does Not Replace The Chd File You Are Updating.

Ya, Thats About It. And Another Thing The Link I Gave You To The Other Topic, Someone Named: Petr1fied, Submitted A Site That Contains Auto Updates, The Url Is:

http://www.mametitles.com/chd.html

I Really Hope This Helps You.
