well this user still uses the retail and a 20gb hdd which is not big :P

 

as for kawa-x cheating comment thats bullsh*t, fba supports n/nd sets as kawa-x does he just wanted to show off saying fbax can decrypt roms so he ditched most of the n/nd sets just to showoff that feature.

 

i mean for him to do it on the first version i understand showing off but not to add support to n/nd set in later versions is lame and i hope he'll add support for them in b5 or whatever that might be next.

FBA (Windows versions) doesnt directly support the decrypted sets (the code is in the source but you have to uncomment and recompile them). the binaries distributed on the FBA site doesnt support decrypted sets, hence the reason why FBAX wants to match functionality with FBA.

 

the way i see it, the emu is as Neogeo perfect as it can, you just have to see it from their perspective to fully understand why these are happening.

 

You may say that in jest. But I've seen several posts on the official FBA forum giving help with adding support for certain decrypted sets. This doesn't violate any part of the license so in theory they'd have no reason not to help you out.

 

thats because the official FBA forums limits their support to their own version (just imagine how many countless compiles they would have to support if they do). it has nothing to do with the license, it just means that if you want tech support for some custom compile then refer to their respective authors. FBAX isnt TeamFBAs work so that counts as a custom compile like Neoghosts. FBAX has its own forum, ask there if necessary.

I meant if the original FBA authors are happy to assist people with adding support for decrypted sets to the PC version then Lantus and TMaul should have no reason to object to doing likewise for FBA-X. Therefore to ask them for assistance would not be unreasonable.

gh0st is working on kof2knd and kof99nd as those have prob and untill those are fixed the other games are on hold.

My goodness. I was waiting for someone to realise but I will have to point you to the windows versions source code. There are commented out drivers for lots of decrypted sets. I'm only doing this as I can't take it any more.

I dont think i actually talked about it much Tmaul. At least not in this forum. Have you actually tested those drivers?

 

If you had, you would realize that they do not work, at least not in the state they are in. For mslug3, garou, strikers, preisle i had to add the S rom line to the driver otherwise fbax would not read the S or extract the text data from the C roms as instructed in the driver.

 

garoun actually needed a specific S rom in order to run 100%. As the others only required the S rom to be added.

 

 

as for kof2knd and kof99nd...........

 

kof2knd - i get gfx errors. I get the best results adding the S rom line to the driver but still get minor graphical problems. Ive tested various S roms and none have given me 100%.

 

kof99nd - this one doesnt even run. No matter what driver i use. (even the one commented out) it has yet to load.

 

 

seeing things from your end i can understand your post but you might have given me a little bit of credit for not being THAT stupid.......lol

 

the drivers included (but commented out) were the first ones i tried for all the games.

 

as far as the homebrew....i never bothered but yeah i know theyre there.

 

So if you want to help us out.......take a look at kof2knd and kof99nd and see if you can come up with a solution. I have yet to.

bullshit? Im sorry, last time i checked myself and TMaul ported FBA. We busted our asses over 3 solid weeks getting decryption working in 64Megs of memory. I, personally am proud to achieve such a feat, as there were many many hurdles to overcome.

 

Yes i do feel its "cheating" in Kawa-X since you usually decypt your roms using the Windows version then ftp them to your xbox. We provide this functionality to you - exactly as the Win32 FBA does. KawaX does not, but then it probably means little to most of you end users anyway

as for my comment, yes pc versions decrypt encrypted roms but they also play the decrypted rom sets as i was saying. only in fba's case its commentted out the drivers for the nd sets for unknown reasons but all i'm saying is fbax should've added support for nd sets.

 

 

i mean seriously, does it kill you just to be lil flexable to ppl who wanna switch from kawa-x to fbax and use the same sets?

Yes they work fine. As I have said before you will need to port over (at least some of) the latest neogeo driver. It seems you are just trying to edit d_neogeo.cpp and in FBAx b4 that will not get all the games working.
