ARCADE 0.245

ARCADE64  0.245 is released.

This month the results of the survey have been applied. Bingo games, casino games, poker games, mahjong games, and video-based fruit games have been added. Polygonet Commanders is playable now, so it is also enabled.

There were 5 attempts to kill off winui, but it was possible to revert all those changes and keep the project going.

Next month will be even more challenging. The old file split by drivers, machine, video, etc has been wiped away, replaced by some arbitrary scheme. Whenever a file is moved, the local modifications are lost. It will quite a task to keep control of this. There might be more disruption that isn't known about yet.

4 games are missing.

Boxer (prototype) - boxer.cpp

Cannonball (Atari, prototype) - cball.cpp

Super Poker - spoker.cpp

G.T. Block CHallenger - blockch.cpp

The rest looks very fine and completed for now.

Boxer - it appeared that the game does its own thing and my inputs are ignored, so I left it out. Are you sure it's playable?

Cannonball - broken graphics. Use the version in HBMAME.

Super Poker - the games I tried were not working, but it looks like some do work, so I'll add it in

Block Challenger - the ball goes straight through the bat, so it's unplayable.

Block Challenger - I didn´t know is unplayable, just see it like a arcade game only. And checked, the ball only moves when decided to do it. LOL.

Ooooooo Kkkkkk - first thanks as always for the great effort.

I've missed the survey ( 4x NO from my side) and now I'm SHOCKED about 100s of new thrash roms. 😧

The GREATNESS of Arcade was always to avoid useless und especially funless roms just like these, not only mechanical roms.

For me the sense of Arcade has died a bit - I hope it will go back to "normal", not only because my dissatisfaction.

I always had a complete Arcade collection (except not working CHD games) but I'll not collect this gambling trash - sorry - that are no real Arcade / Video-Games.

Above all, you can't even filter them out.

Please, Robert, it's your babe and your opinion is 4xNO aswell.

And the others aswell, please overthink your opinion. It's not just some few new roms that wouldn't so horrible.

But here the awesome Arcade collection gets many hundreds of "such" strange roms. Do you really enjoy, need, let alone use these hunderts of roms ?

Maybe a mass message to all users should go out for a poll as thinking about it now not everyone updated there roms each month, some leave for 6 months & some for a year, so let's see how many come out & say they don't like the change & want another POLL. ARCADE should mean everything that is associated with an Arcade. That's my opinion

Also a txt file could be attached to the build saying PLEASE READ as not everyone gets there build from here & missed the POLL/ But hey it's done now & it's taken my ages to get all the roms.

I'm really sad I missed the survey, not that it would have a made a difference.  One of the main reasons I started using MAMUIFX was because it didn't include all the junk card/slots games.  I can't believe people want those games cluttering up MAME.

 

I guess there aren't many of us left that just want a mame release with games that replicates arcades from our childhood.

Maybe some ROMs' grouping would be needed in MAME source for moments like that, so that users can turn on needed filters.

The games added it doesn´t look bad at all. Don´t compare the real mame version. They are just tiny.

Get pleasuredome magnet with all mame roms, do a rebuild scan and you are good way to go.
