I currently have 2 theories that contradict each other, so I'll put the other one into another post.

The basis of a good conspiracy theory is to gather up "facts", as presented by the media, and weave them together with a bit of logical thinking, to produce an outcome. It all must be entirely logical. In my case, I don't even believe these theories - but they make sense. Now, for the first theory, and this one is pretty easy to shoot down.

Ponder this question. Do you PERSONALLY know anyone with this virus? It mustn't be what you heard in the media, or some rumour from your friend's sister's boyfriend - it must be someone you personally know.

If the answer is YES, then the theory ends here and now. Otherwise, let's continue on. Does this virus pandemic even exist? Or is it some kind of social experiments by governments, to find out what would happen in a real emergency? If so, one can just imagine the amount of lawsuits when it's declared over.

That's a good point. I don't know anyone personally, but I do feel it would be hard to fake at this point as so many celebrities and doctors are also coming out and saying they have it. It would definitely be insane if we all found out it was fake... can't imagine what that would do to people's minds. There would be zero trust left in the world. 😂

Hehehe, I've not been in stores for 2 days now but still when I've been in sotres I have not  seen to many people . Toilet paper run out initially quickly but has been restocked fast. There was was shortage for bread for a short time. Right now I have at least one confirmed sick in my city and that might change a lot. Looking from my windows at city it look like deserted, only rarely peoples with dogs so people are probably scared and finally sitting at home. Shops were closed in sunday in my country but that's normal. Tomorrow we will see how much situation has changed my city.

Wow, that's insane! Can't believe your city is deserted with only 1 confirmed sick. That's paranoia at its finest.

But anyway, you didn't answer my question! What about the bidets? Do you guys prefer the water washing or the toilet paper? :D

Now, for the 2nd theory. This one is rather complex - and it's not over. Again, I don't really believe it - but who knows? Perhaps there's an element of truth in there somewhere.

As we all know (or are told), this virus made the transition to humans in Wuhan province, somewhere in China. A doctor raised the alarm and was told to keep quiet.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/china-silenced-doctor-who-first-raised-alarm-about-coronovirus-nyt-reports

I contend that China intended this virus to be spread around the world, and the doctor was supposed to say nothing. A few weeks later he was conveniently found dead.

https://globalnews.ca/news/6705990/coronavirus-chinese-doctor-death-report/

Finally, after hiding the facts for 7 weeks, allowing the virus to spread in the community and tourists, China finally took action.

https://arstechnica.com/science/2020/02/quarantine-camps-door-to-door-searches-in-wuhan-as-coronavirus-rampages-on/

The latest we hear is that China has it "under control". If this is true, then soon the world will have a healthy China, while the rest are falling down sick, with hospitals overrun, dead piling up, etc etc. Did China already have an antidote? How did they control it so quickly?

The world's workers will increasingly turn to working from home, placing an increased reliance upon the internet and telecommunications in general.

Wouldn't this be a convenient time for a certain nation to attack another nation's internet? Or even for a certain nation to start a war, while everybody else is sick?

Or, at the very least, for the world's economies to crash and leave themselves open to control from a nation that has "3rd world" economic status but is in fact the world's most powerful.

Think about it.

Also, think about why their state-controlled company is so aggressive in getting a foothold in other country's telecommunications, even suing countries that have locked them out.

https://www.afr.com/companies/telecommunications/huawei-confirms-it-will-sue-us-government-20190307-h1c3r9

Why are they so desperate?

This is definitely an interesting theory! I do sometimes wonder if the reports in China are true or not, and if they actually have stopped new infections? It's almost hard to believe considering how much the rest of the world is just beginning to deal with this, but then again I feel most of the world didn't take it seriously. I am, however, doubtful that China intended for the virus to be spread. I am inclined to believe that this was an accident and that it did start in a "wet market," as researchers have pointed out to wet markets in the past as a possible origin point to new viruses. I really recommend watching this interview (the first 20 minutes are the most informative):

If only someone with a sense of responsibility was president...

https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health/health-problems/coronavirus-donald-trump-refuses-to-take-responsibility-after-downplaying-the-threat-for-months/news-story/f1c9df3ff16a7c277142216d2929cc96

As it is, America will soon be flooded with the dead bodies of the poor.

Whatever happened to the saying "The buck stops here" ? For Trump, it stops somewhere else - anywhere else - but never with him.

toilet paper or.. someone else t-shirt 😁

Now serious. That one woman was in hospital and had contact with at least 50 people in hospital. Now hospital is separated from outside world. Many of those people probably left hospital and didn't know that woman was positive with covid19. All hospitals employes that are at home at orderer to stay at home on force. One of nurses is actually living very close to my home.

Besides weather is rather bad here in Poland - strong wind, yesterday was snowing. Not the best conditions to stay healthy. Right now from time to time I see only people with dogs.

Well, how Trump deals with this situation will inform if he gets elected again or not. I think that maybe him not taking responsibility actually makes his base like him more (which you would never think with presidents before him). It seems that everything Trump does appears ironic at first, but only ends up strengthening his base. I think how he deals with people who lose their jobs from this will be pivotal.

Hahaha, so tp or t-shirts! 😂

Right now it seems being a hospital worker is by far the scariest job to have in the world!

I guess people in Poland won't have to worry about trying to socially isolate due to the weather keeping you guys in.

Still cold but we have sunshine but still it's rare to see people outside. In next two days weather will be much better with peak in saturday and sunday.

BTW. Couple days ago we had very high temperatures (just before first ill in my city) and plenty people were outside. One confirmed ill changed everything.

A month later... How are you all doing? I hope some of you have taken this time to learn some new stuff! I know I have a lot more free time now myself.

Well, in the last few days toilet paper has reappeared on the shelves. Next week restrictions will start to be rolled back.

Most of our deaths came from just 2 places - a cruise ship that was allowed to dock and let the passengers off without being checked; and an infected person who stayed at work in an aged care facility.

However it seems there will be some permanent changes. Social distancing is here to stay which causes behavioral changes all over the place. There's no word on when (or if) travel to other countries will resume. I can't really see cruise ships ever coming back, as they are nothing more than floating incubators.

We've had a total of 96 deaths in our country, so far.

The real culprits, China, have been behaving like entitled big babies. They have been busily cleaning away any mentions of the disease on their internet. Anyone who wants to sue is visited by the police. Lawyers disappear. Anyone who wants to publicise what's been going on gets locked away. You can be sure that the entire episode will soon be a taboo subject in that sad country and be erased from history just like previous crackdowns. Several countries want an investigation into how the virus started. China won't allow it, which is a sure sign that they are hiding something. Aren't you glad that you live in a country where free speech is allowed?
