RetroAchievements needs testing

Recommended Posts

A certain 'Ubersheep' is bringing the concept of achievements to retro emulators and asking for testers. So far there's no love for arcade titles, only select Megadrive games are supported.

I really am doubting if this will ever catch on for the one reason that it requires completely modified emulators. If the author could somehow write a plugin for the most popular emulators -- that would probably be the smartest bet.

Even then, I strongly believe he should also focus more on the emulators for gaming systems, rather than PC. For example, people who are emulating Neogeo with FBA on their PS3 and have internet access. Regardless, it's a pretty clever project, and I *do hope* it catches on. Perhaps one of us should send him an e-mail so he can post about his project here?

A loader could be independantly made. With reference achievement data and a listing website available, nothing too complicated as someone already had a similar idea before and took a better approach.

Sounds interesting if it will work on my good emulators.

I've been trying to look at the site for a few days now but it seems to be down.
