RAm upgrade issue

Um but those are some pretty expensive cards, is the pny graphics im buying completely different?

I thought two gigs is two gigs either way.

 

This is my specs:

AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ 2.10 Ghz

Ram: 2gb (ddr2 PC2-5300)- max 4gb

(DirectX 11)

32bit windows 7

Video Card : Nvidia Geforce 8500GT 512mb

2 Gigs is not just 2 Gigs, There are different speeds and timings of RAM. PC2-5300 is pretty slow compared to some of that stuff. The fastest kit there runs almost twice the speed of yours at stock speeds. If you want to buy just more of the same speed though try these:

 

4GB (4-4-4-12 timing)

They not only run at the same speed MHz wise but have tight stock timings. Note that you cannot run these at those timings unless you don't use your old ram because it is probably timed at 5-5-5-15 or slower.
