I'm shopping for a new motherboard.

when I look at the supported processors lists some say

Pentium 4

and others say

Pentium 4 LG!775

is it the same thing, because i have a pentium 4, but i don't no if its Lg!775. Does the 775 just mean that it is a socket 775? Then whats the Lg! mean.

That you for the help if you help. If not then play halo2. ;)

thanks, so if i have a pentium 4 processor it won't work.

LGA775 is a socket type. 775 pins (Or in this case, grid points). That specific one, is a Pentium 4 Socket LGA775. If you have anything else (Socket 423 or 478) you're in need of a new motherboard to go with the CPU.

i heard that all pentium 4 processors were socket 775. how can i find out wich socket mine is?

i have pentium 4

Older P4's are socket 478, Later version are LGA 775.

If your CPU has pins on the bottom then its a 478, if there are no pins then its a 775.
