In fact, if you hadn't pointed it out; I doubt I would have ever found out about this fact. It's sort of weird how it's neither in the papers nor on television though. How about this: We've borrowed enough money from Saudi Arabia so that if they suddenly wanted to have it all back at one time they could collapse our entire national economy. Of course that would have severe impact on the world and it'd be very unintelligent to do so, but if they really wanted to they could. And don't forget that Saudi Arabia has essentially been proven to harbor "terrorists" against the US, and the reasons we never hear the goventment say anything about them is because of how much money we owe them and that they have tooooons of natural oil deposits in their land. Why would anyone want to avoid a middle province like oil-rich Alberta that has no provincial tax and plenty of government benefits because of its wealth?
