Lots of ATI users have complained that they've had nothing but trouble with nVIDIA, and nVIDIA users have complained that they've had nothing but trouble with ATI cards. It really boils down to what kind of hardware one has, what drivers you have for the hardware, what video card model you have, and what drivers one uses for his/her video card. Add these factors together, and you'll either get something that's flocking awesome or something that's totally crap. It's just like the console wars thing. Definitely much better than Radeon 9600.
