Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children Thread

I am not a big final fantasy fan after the 7 came out.

For me this movie was much like the game. Lots of eye candy but it was very boring to sit through. I don't mind subtitles, in fact I watch at least 3-4 foreign movies a week. butwhile  I was watching this I just wanted it to be over. That rarely happends when I watch a movie. It's good for the FF7 fans though.

You do know that saying something is boring is very offensive. It's far from being the same with the game.

@Drake: Why DBZ? ^_^

I watched the movie and was very happy! :thumbsup1:

...and I'm not much of an FF7 fan, FYI...

ok i said the movie kinda sucked, so i guess i better state my reasoning. the story, was so rushed, and choppy, i didnt know what was goin on till near the end of the movie. also, the fighting was just too "perfect". everytime someone got hit hard or crashed into something, they always have to land on their feet in some fancy manner. it made the fight repetative, without showing strength from any character. and what was up with the motorcycles? ur gonna tell me ur gonna fight crazy like that and not show any signs of crashing or danger? slidng all over the highway was cool, but they did that for the whole chase scene. i guess what im tryin to say is that it was cheesey. nice, but cheesey. back to the fighting, the stuff was sooo fast that i didnt even know who got hit with what or if anyone got hit at all! it was fun to see, but it wouldve been nice to see someone actually getting tired or hurt at some point. and that last fight was anticlimatic. they slash this and that here and there and end it in like 5min or so. i still dont understand the importance of those kids. what else...the other characters hardly did anything. vincent was the only one who got a supporting role, and thats not sayin much since he didnt get to do much either. i just felt like it wasnt much of a movie, more like an episode of an anime.

but, the graphics were beautiful. best cg i have ever seen. tifa was lookin really good i can at least admit that. im sure many of u liked it and im glad, at least someone did. i just expected more from a film that was hyped for a number of years now.

You haven't played the game haven't you? This movie is targeted to fans. Only people who played the game will understand everything.

Offensive how is that? I tried watching it twice and it just didn't do anything for me, hence why it was boring, as for the games they are the same way. You site through a bunch of boring dialog, get some nice eye-candy, then more dialog. It just didn't have anything to offer me besides visuals and that isn't enough for me to stay interested.

LOL Honestly.

Is this the part were you proclaim the SNES Generation of RPGs to be the best?

Movie had good fight scenes, but not much else... just a lot of graphical fluff & scenes that would make sephiphiles drool...

Heres a more vindictive review which I tend to agree with:

all action, zero plot, and character exhibitions galore...

dont get me wrong, im not totally condemning the movie... just its inner content, even knowing and being a diehard of the content of the game and adding that on, still seems to lack the game's soul...

yeah, the cg was amazing... but that was about it... otherwise it was basically a toliet swirl of action... and some things didnt make sense...

the music wasn't good either.. adding guitar and rockish beat to sephiroth's music was just plain wrong... it didnt sound cool... it sounded awful >_<

There are two types of ff7 fans, those that will defend this movie till the end, looking past its many flaws, and those that will realize it does it no justice...

anyways has anyone watched the last order yet?

Which film do you guys think is worse, AC or Spirits within?

Again I praise the film for its stunning cg and fighting scenes but all in all its sheer graphiical splendor and quite shallow underneath... even if you were some die hard ff7 fanboy.. its hard to not see past the nonsensical nature, the fact that people dont stay dead... and defying the law of physics at every twist and turn....

whats up with *RENO saying yo, all the time? Or did I just get a bad subtitle? really annoying...

What had the potential to be a promising movie was nothing more than graphical fluff to keep fanboys oogling at the visual splendors... had they made the movie based on actual unfolding of events of ff7 the game, it would have had far more potential...

====SPOLIER ALERT================

Things that made no sense/bad parts

For instance what happened to the fireball that bahamut shot? just cuz shot killed the summon, are we to assume that the shot dissolved with the monster? thats ridicioulous, among other things...

Whats up with the baptism allusion scene in the end? what exactly were the kiddies infected with?

The other characters didnt get enough air time, and there was virtually no character depth nor development...

i.e. Vincent, Yuffie, Red 13 looked like crap.... yah...

Whats up with all the cell phones.? was it doing some promotional thing like MIB? cellie infomercial... although the tifa fight with the cellie victory ring town I must admit was pretty good/funny...

anyways..albeit heres the reason I came to this forum the first place :thumbsup1:

I have a question for y'alls:

Does anyone have a link for Final Fantasy 7:Last Order english subtitles? Thx

This is to everyone:

Your subs are bad.

Personally, this movie is about Cloud's personal redemption because it seems between AC and 7, he lost his meaning (once again). Although it seems some of you weren't paying attention enough to the movie at all (which can lead to, you sub sucks and go get the good ones by using google!). This movie wasn't meant for mass appel, it was ment for the die hard. It wasn't trying to get exposure like what they were trying to do with Spirits Within.

Whoever disses Nobuo Uematsu work should be shot on sight.

Originally this movie was suppose to be a 20 minute short. The story wasn't rushed, it was just expanded for the better or the bad. Said short was suppose to be a shorter version of this basically.

The movie is basically going by the game with all the materia, impossible jumps and etc.

Did I mention it's still about Cloud?

Anyways, I can't think of a good come back at the moment.

Last Order is a short that happens when Zack and Cloud escape. Althought that is what it is, a short. It's also a summery for the events that happened in Niblhem.

Really, if you understood Neon Genesis Evanglion's ending, then this should be a walk in the park.

It's not even a park, it's like having the answer shoved right in your face while a they taunt you for stupid you are. This isn't even MGS2.

Haha no I am not saying anything like that. Maybe my personal thoughst on Final Fantasy before the PSX. But at the time FF7 came out I was getting tired of turn-based battles. I am more into the real-time battles. No waiting around for things to happen.
