get Nvidia Ge Force 7 series, its the best for gamers.

you will be hapy with it.

Totally pointless if his CPU is too slow.

Unless he can afford a 6800 GT, which i doubt a bit due to the 5200 he asked for, the 6600 GT is the best atm, even if he must save some more.

the 7800 is out of question for anyone who is not rich or not a maniac.

Besides that, for emulation, the CPU weighs more.

Check my sig, i put it up with my specs now.

Not to mention the 7800 is extremely expensive. However, the new ATIs do quite well compared to the 7800s. The latest is always expensive though. For best price/performance I'd go for a Radeon 9600/9700/9800 or GeForce 6600GT/6800. Those should all be under $200.

Usually the way the Nvidia Vs ATi Race goes is ATi Will have some super card, Nvidia comes out with a better one for awhile, then ATi tops it for a super long time again.

Waiting to see if that will happen with the X1000....

Does anyone remember how long the Radeon 9800 series lasted? Omg it was tops for like years. You can STILL get away with using the XT.

I have an ATI Radeon 9800 and it runs everything I throw at it just fine - Doom 3, Far Cry, Fear. That's about all I can say, because I'm not very techno savvy nowadays.

And I use the official drivers, and I've had no probs.

Normal, Pro or XT (or how was it)? I have Pro and it still holds its ground very well.
