Kawaks Crash?

I can't give you any links to Loaders, because the board rules prohibit it.

 

Are you sure? I examined the rules page closely and there's nothing to say you can't request hacked emus, loaders or whatnot.

We've talked about Loaders before, and we came to the agreement that Loader links are prohibited since you can use Loaders to get unsupported games working. Hacked NRXs are a different matter, since in it's very core, NRX emulates all sets to begin with; the only reason why the latest EGCG hacks are available is because they fix innate emulation bugs that the original NRX had.

Is that against the rules too? We have lots of stuff about unsupported games. Where is the line drawn?

 

If there's going to be rules, it should be in the board rules for all to see.

okey.. looks like this thread has wandered way off topic...

 

I have acquired a loader but I am having a little trouble with the config, since it seems that each rom has to have its own DAT information file.

 

Also, it looks like progear is not supported because nebula does not contain the XOR data. I'd still really like a fix for kawaks though...

Yes, but those are largely just DATs. What other material is there besides DATs, drivers and IPS patches?

 

Darkmage: Just paste the DAT for each game into NEOGEO.DAT. Also, I got Proger working in in Nebula, but the colors were strange.

that's weird... when i paste certain romsets into the Neogeo.dat such as metal slug 5 the program crashes on loading...

 

just have to keep trying with both this and kawaks :P

You need to make sure that that your files match to whatever is written into the DAT.

Sorry, i should have been more clear. This was a direct copy of my working ASR.dat from Kawaks into nebula, but when i then run the loader and press "Rescan ROMs" the program crashes.

 

I dunno, i never thought i'd say this but i may just switch to MAME...

And how would MAME makes thing any different? You'd still have to compile your own custom MAME that supports the sets you have, unless you find a build that already supports all the sets you have.

Yes that is the DAT format. I already have SVC chaos, Samurai Shodown 5 and Samurai Shodown 5 Special working, its just the addition of the Metal Slug data that causes the crash. I'm gonna keep trying...

U may use encypted P or C ROM's with the wrong Fix or Gfx value at the end of the Dat file. This could explain Ur crash.
