Hi, im currently using a version of Final Burn XXX - sorry dont know which version. Im wanting to play Street Fighter 2 but it runs too slow to make the game enjoyable, do any of the recent builds or the Pro version run this game better?

I am going to get the anniversary edition, just wanted to know if this was possible for the time being

No, SF2 just seems to run slow. It does the same thing in MAMEdOX too. But here is what you can do if you want to play an SF2 game fast. Get SF2 Turbo start the game, then bring up the emulator options window and choose the "Adjust CPU Speed" option, then crank it up to 180-200%. Now it will run fast. I tried the same thing on SF2 but it still ran slow, but it worked great on SF2 Turbo.
