  1. a simple .elf on the disk won't work..it's really guess work..I literally had to make a bunch of coasters till i found something right which in my case was a jakk 2 demo disk.try different game disks...Also I found this method worked on a version 5 but not a version 7 ps2.if thats the issue install on a friends ps2 and make an all version fmcboot memcard..you could also try calibration or cleaning the laser since this usually has to be done for a ps2 to read burnt media..Best of luck

  2. Can everybody who has done this successfully start a compatibility list with the games that work? :)

    So far we have:

    007 - Agent Under Fire, Region = Ntsc (U), "driving.elf" = :thumbsup1:

    Jakk 2 - Demo, Region = Ntsc, "???.elf" = :)

The jakk2 demo disk was NTSC-U..and the executable was suspiciously named boot.elf already

  3. ok heres the deal... lately ive been playing secret of the solstice and while im playing my computer suddenly crashes. it just shows wierd colors and i have to force a shutdown... it happens with a lot of other games too can anyone please help and tell me wat i gotta do....thanx

Could be more than just ones video card...or drivers..could be faulty memory..find a copy of knoppix or any other bootable live cd that has memtest32..also try disabling agp fast writes in your boot-up bios if thats an option..also looking up information regarding your motherboard..try installing intels mobo drivers off their website...while your at it google for your problem and include your mainboard/graphics chip..and lastly check for bios updates for your mainboard..and be very careful with this..however read the changelogs on the bios updates that are available and see if your issue is mentioned...Good Luck

  4. Ever wanted to get rid of those annoying cps3 loading /rewrite times..it's simple...find a nocd version and run it in mame..then go into mames nvram directory and rename the appropriate nvram file to the game you wish to play.. example rename sfiii3n.nv to sfiii3.nv..if you're lucky enough to be using linux a simple soft link will work as well..Poof!!! no more waiting times

  5. I can verify that this does work on disks that don't have multiple binaries and the elf doesn't have to be on the root of the drive...i can also unfortunately verify as well that other bond games even with a driving.elf do not work..i managed to pull it off with a jakk2 demo disk of all things..best luck to all

  6. Thanks everyone for your quick replies :clapping: To answer your question the psp is my gf's daughters and i'm not sure who updated it..My next question is will any emulator or os run w/o custom firmware or is there anything else unique or educational to do with it besides the usual?

  7. Yep. You need to use a Pandora battery.

Go look that up and if you have any questions Ill be able to help you out. The readme in the thing you download is real easy to follow though.

I have a fat model btw..but also is there any other firmware i can safely install without that?

  8. Anway regarding the origional post i think it's still mainly a monopoly... you can see that when you go to a computer store and you're forced to buy a machine with virus xp home edition.. if you choose not to use the damn closed source monster you still end up paying M$ tax for buying the flocking thing.. of course you can build your own pc but not everyone knows how to do that.. even still if you do use linux many companies like silicon integrated systems refuses to support your hardware nor give the developers any clues or help.. another reason is most pc users use windows for its ease and want to double click on everything for answers.. However the linux kernel (the core of the operating system) has been under serious development in the last few yrs.. any newer distro has a much flashier desktop than luna.. i wish more people would become more aware of this alternative operating system so we can make bill gates sign a eula to kiss our asses and fully put an end to big companies wanting our souls
