  1. FUCK!

Well I started it up and some kind of smoke started coming from underneath the engine block. It seemed like towards the front. It may have just been steam since it's cold out but I have a feeling it was smoke because it seemed kinda dark. Also as soon as I disconnected the jumper cables it died. Which makes no fucking sense because the alternator is pretty much brand new. I'm starting to think this car is fucked which sucks because I love this car :D

My mechanic friend is coming to look at it tomorrow. I hope it turns out to be something not so shitty. I'm not holding my breath though, and I don't have any money for a new car >_<

  2. Damn man what is the point in shoveling it so much? My lazy ass would just let it pile up and then shovel it all at once when I needed the car.

Either that or I would find a way to combine a heating element with a leaf blower for a giant heat gun to melt it with :)

  3. I appreciate classic American Muscle cars, it's the new garbage that people seem to think is shit hot I can't stand.

Newer Corvette? ASS...all power, greasy bacon fat handling on the road just like the Viper.

The new iterations of the Charger? Fucking please.

The Mustang has sucked for a long time...

If that's the best they can throw out, I'm not impressed. Japan has the "Muscle" these days, with cars that may not have a huge engine under the hood, but can out-handle the above cars by FAR where their HP means fuck all.

My fav cars in no particular order?

    1968 Dodge Charger

    2000 Mazda RX-7 Type RB

    Lamborghini Countach (Stuff it Diablo)

Yeah I agree. I don't know what is with all these stupid fucking remakes/reboots. It seems like it should have ended years ago with the GTO. Remember when they redid that? It was a fucking joke. They kept doing it though.

Even the newer Cadillacs suck. Sure they look pretty cool on the outside (still prefer the classic look though) but once you actually get inside one it's like WTF?! This car costs what?! They don't drive smooth or anything either.

They always told me let it run for about 5-10 min, at least once a week. Letting it sit for a month shouldnt be so bad, you shouldnt have the problem I had.

    Alright cool. That's do-able.

  4. Damn that sucks. I hate snow. That reminds me of when I used to live in Michigan. Aren't you in Canada?

Here we barely get any snow, like 2 or 3 inches and people start freaking out. It's pretty funny. We get a shit ton of ice though because it always alternates between snowing and raining.

  5. You can get an nvidia card if you want, but again you pay a price premium just because it says "Nvidia" on it. You will pay much more money for only a small performance gain if any. Also they require much more power to run and create much more heat.

As far as the RAM goes it's actually a triple channel kit. DDR3. Some boards need sets of 3 while some need sets of two. There are no quad channel memory kits/motherboards yet. I imagine it would be called DDR4.

That's cool that you added me, I'll have to see if I have it installed. I barely ever get on. When you order from amazon pay attention to the little box on the right where it says "Ships from" because when you order from amazon a lot of the stuff doesn't actually come from Amazon. See which places would ship to you and try to see if they have stuff you want.

  6. WTF, according to binsearch the copy currently being uploaded to usenet requires a password. Is this true? Why is this necessary? It's not like I won't be able to get the password but now people will download it who may not know where to get it from and just get pissed and say fuck it.

  7. Yeah that is really nice. I love classics like that. I'd rather ride in luxury than go real fast too :)

Man I hope it's not that fucked. It's only been sitting for like a month though I was starting it until the battery crapped out and now I can't. I'll try and jump it in a bit I guess. How long you think I should leave it running? Fuck man I do not have money for a new car though. I hope I don't end up driving around in some shitty ass van or something. Sharing a car with my wife is getting to be a pain in the ass too just because of work schedules.

  8. Yeah I used Newegg and all prices are in USD. I don't really know all that much about who ships to Romania but I usually use the following sites:

    Newegg

    Tiger Direct

    ZipZoomFly

    Frys

    Directron

    Amazon

Buy.com (rarely they have some random good deal)

and a few other small specialty sites that only sell coolers and stuff. Maybe if you can send me some sites that ship to Romania I can have a look around for you.

  9. Hey BP just so you know I use XBMC every single day usually multiple times. I literally watch everything I have on it. I don't have cable or anything. So if you need someone to test I could load it on mine. It will get tons of use. I don't use the stuff you where talking about removing really either.

  10. Bah, fuck that caviar green. You want a Black, at least a Blue.

Get this here if you want Intel, although I would get AMD as well. You get almost as much performance for way less money. You can overclock them pretty easily too.

    Crazy shit:

    $1,184.87

Try that with two of those video cards and a cheaper power supply:

ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM

Antec Three Hundred Black Computer Case

    $1,344.86

Now change to pussy i5 but up the video card back to a 5870 (Also requires change of motherboard):

ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM

Antec Three Hundred Black Computer Case

  11. I hated black ops. I thought everything about it was stupid.

The storyline is completely retarded and makes no sense at all if you know anything about history. (Enemy using like 10 crazy attack helicopters they would be lucky to have 3 of days before a major offensive to take out 1 guy...wow, that's not even the best example) Me and a friend where making fun of the game the whole way through. By level 2 (might have been 3, it was before he died in the truck though, trying not to spoil too much) I was like wow wouldn't it be retarded if this guy was all in your imagination? Then we saw the end of the game just blown away by how predictable everything was. The presentation is just retarded too. (THE NUMBERS!!! THE FUCKING NUMBERS!!! AHHHHHHHH followed by GIVE ME THE LOCATION MASON!!!!!, thrown in like 3 times between every level. Yeah just put that shit in when you can't think of anything else to say) The actual gameplay is so scripted its a joke. It's like watching a movie. There are parts of the game where you can just run through it without shooting anyone and it's impossible to die even on the hardest difficulty levels. Even turret parts where you have no opportunity to hide or anything. The guns don't make sense either. They are real guns, but WTF at Dragons Breath AKA rape machine and attachable flamethrower on the bottom of an AK that shoots for that long. Your teammates go back and forth from being useless and doing everything for you. The levels are boring. The graphics are dated. The dialogue is hilariously bad. I could go on forever. Seriously NOTHING good about this game. The best part was Dead Ops Arcade. Having a pirated copy (fuck that game :)) I hadn't played the multiplayer until recently.

SURPRISE! It's just as shitty as it was before. It's the same Rock Paper Scissors gameplay that's popular now. I call it that because that's basically what you are doing, playing rock paper scissors. You just have to know what comes out on top in every situation and you cannot lose. There is no skill involved. That and learning all the gimmicks/tricks/glitches. So its really just memorize/repeat/cheat to win. This bullshit type of gameplay started with Halo 2 and continues today. I even saw a video of a guy online whining about "quickscoping" not working anymore. WAAAAHHHH ONE OF MY TRICKS TO WIN DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE WAAAAAAHHHHH I CAN'T WIN ANYMOOOOOOOORREEEE. He was being a real bitch about it too. Talking about how the sniper class is ruined now and he is just not going to bother to play it. I know not everyone is like this but goddamn.

The one good thing to come out of games like this is all the bitchy moaning whiny players from CS have now left and moved onto these games. You remember how bad that used to be years ago? Holy shit. Anyway...

Then there is the Zombie Mode. To be honest I don't know why you would bother with this when you can get L4D/L4D2 for so cheap now but that's not the point I guess. I liked the Zombie mode in World At War and it's not THAT much different in Black Ops, but I still don't like it as much. I thought the guns where a lot more fun to use in World At War's version (although that shotgun in Black Ops is really fun and one of the machine guns I forget which one can fuck shit up all day), I also like the World At War levels a LOT better. I did like the revive drink thing in Black Ops though. I didn't think it just made the game easier too much because you have to run all the way back to the beginning to get it and you are pretty much advancing forward the whole time. You don't really hold out anywhere like you used to in World At War. At the same time though it seems like you have like half as much health now. So is it really just another stupid thing they added to try and make it different/harder?

I never thought I would say this but I liked MW2 better to be honest. I HATED MW2 as well. So this is pretty mindblowing for me that a game actually shittier than MW2 could exist. Whatever man, games are becoming something for Bros now. I guess they finally got bored with Madden. Sci-Fi for bros (Mass Effect), Shooters for Bros (Call of Duty), Driving games for Bros (Forza/Project Gotham, whatever they decide they like better. They can't seem to stop arguing about it), What's Next? Some type of super easy Bro platformer? I don't know. Without "deep" storylines that are about as deep as Donnie Darko and constant explosions in your face I don't think it would hold their interest.

yeah and what was with that? Everything was constantly going to shit in Black Ops. The shooting/explosions never stopped unless the game was waiting on you to finish some scripted event (Shoot the lock off the door! ha!) or you where in one of those shitty chair scenes. Not that I want to play a game where nothing is happening but it was a little ridiculous.

  12. Hey your damn holiday netted me a deal on 1.5Tb hard drives.

Seagate's, not those shitty WD Blue or Green drives, I'll never touch another WD drive again in my life...look forward to seeing them go bankrupt, since they're going "Cheap China" on all their drives now.

    $60 a piece.

All is fair in love and land stealing...

Fuck that. I have gone through a ridiculous amount of hard drives. Western Digital is best. To be honest though I have never used one of the Green drives. Only Blue and Black. Mostly black too because the price difference is usually not much. I have used probably a few hundred of them and never seen one fail. (I build computers for people a lot) Even the ones that ended up getting used at construction sites in enclosures getting banged up all day still work. On the other hand almost every single Seagate I have ever owned has crapped out on me. They either just completely die with no warning or start corrupting things so fast you can't recover shit. I've lost tons of data because of those bastards. I have only one that still works and it is the one that came in my xbox. I think the performance is usually a bit better as well. At least in real world usage. It seems like WDs can never completely fail, they just get slower.

My 320GB drive in my sig is from like 2006-ish. Ever since I bought it around 100GB gets written to it and erased on a daily basis. My computer is also almost never off. The drive still works great! I also have a 12GB from I think 2001 (it's a laptop drive) that still works. I don't use it anymore but that thing was filled to the brim and erased so many times it's ridiculous. I think I retired it in like 2005.

WD has also never had incidents like the Seagate 7200.12 thing (maybe it was 7200.11) or the Hitachi Deathstar (Deskstar) although I hear good things about Hitachi now.
