Strong aftershock causes more misery in China
A strong aftershock jolted southwest China on Sunday killing at least one person and injuring 400 others, state media said, nearly a fortnight after a big earthquake killed tens of thousands in the same area.

More than 70,000 houses were toppled during Sunday's tremor in Qingchuan, Sichuan province, state television reported. The 5.8 magnitude aftershock was epicentered 40 km (25 miles) west-northwest of Guangyuan, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
A local official in Guangyuan county said one person was killed and 24 hurt in collapsed houses or landslides, Xinhua state news agency reported.
Man like they needed this.

Hollywood has been granted another victory in its war against piracy, this time at the expense of two linking sites that the Motion Picture Association of America believes profited from enabling copyright infringement. Both ShowStash.net and Cinematube.net have been hit with multimillion dollar judgments recently for copyright infringement of various movies and TV shows.
Even though ShowStash and Cinematube didn't host any of these files, both were found guilty of contributory copyright infringement, according to the judges' opinions, because they searched for, identified, collected, and indexed links to illegal copies of movies and TV shows. Aside from monetary damages, both sites are now prohibited from engaging in further activity that would infringe upon the studios' work.
The damages totaled $2.7 million for ShowStash and $1.3 million for Cinematube, neither of which were particularly well-known to the general Internet community. The MPAA doesn't seem to care much that it gives free publicity to these tiny sites when it makes announcements of its litigation plans, however. The organization apparently hopes that others will merely feel threatened by the prospect of paying out millions of dollars and shut down voluntarily.
"Our goal is to stop this kind of blatant and illegal activity," MPAA executive VP John Malcolm said in a statement. "These judgments indicate that the studios will not hesitate to vigorously pursue litigation against this type of site."
The MPAA announced the two judgments just two weeks after the organization was awarded $110 million in damages from TorrentSpy. The MPAA hailed the decision as a clear victory for the movie studios that served as the icing on the cake after TorrentSpy's announcement that it would shut down for good on March 24.
With two more (albeit relatively small) victories under its belt, the MPAA is even more confident in its stance against sites that merely link to potentially copyrighted material. It wouldn't be surprising to see ShowStash and Cinematube eventually mirror TorrentSpy's decision to shut down, too.
It's not uncommon to find illegal movies being hosted on servers outside the US, which is why sites based in the US have not hesitated to merely tell users how to get to them. The increase in lawsuits against sites that point to illegal movies, however, may push more of them to move operations overseas too in order to skirt further litigation.
crap this will be a stop to new sites trying to start up with indexing. Telling you one day we won't be able to link to say a image cause it is copyrighted.

Robbie Knievel jumps 24 trucks in Ohio, redoing dad's stunt.
Robbie "Kaptain" Knievel successfully jumped over 24 delivery trucks Saturday night at the site of one of his father's most famous stunts.
Knievel had said he would be going 95 miles per hour during the 220-foot jump, which began from a tall ramp and was completed amid wild cheers, booming explosions and shooting flames at Kings Island amusement park near Cincinnati.
After landing, the daredevil gave the crowd a thumbs-up, raced his bike back and forth and popped a wheelie.
Evel Knievel jumped 115 feet over 14 buses at Kings Island in 1975 in an event that was watched by more than half of the nation's television viewers. He died last year at the age of 69 after suffering from failing health for many years.
Robbie Knievel dedicated his stunt to his father, U.S. war veterans and those serving in the military.
A friend just called me awhile ago and told me about this. He was there today at Kings Island. Man I have seen both Evil and Robbie jump. I was even at the one Evil did at Kings Island in 1975. What a show and a memory.

Pete´s OpenGL2 GPU-Plugin for the PSX Emulators
Get it HERE
Change LogMay, 2008 Version 2.09
- This release is basically an "ePSXe birthday" version: after a long
time the ePSXe team wanted to make an update to their main emu, and
to improve the compatibility with some games. One of the compatibility
fixes had to be done in the gpu plugins, so, well, I had to fire up
my compilers as well... I don´t wanted to let ´em down, eh? Smile
Since my free time is somewhat limited, I have not made many other
changes, though (at least in the last weeks... I cannot remember what
I´ve done the last years in the gpu plugins, so I basically hope that
I didn´t mess something up.
- First, the mentioned game fix. This will prevent lock ups in certain
games (for example "Dukes of Hazzard" or "Hot wheels turbo racing").
The main emu can enable this fix by a new gpu interface function
automatically, for other emus you can enable the "special game fix"
manually in the gpu config window (the fix is called "Fake ´gpu busy´
states").
- The main emu can use a new gpu interface function, to enable the
gpu´s "FPS limitation" automatically. Why? Because most new psx emu
users seem to have problems with the "FPS" concept, and are unable to
activate the correct settings (just as a reminder: "higher FPS" is not
equal to "smoother display" in psx emulation).
- Nagisa from SSSPSX added new frame limit timings to the Peops soft gpu
plugin. I have put this timings into my hw/accel plugins as well,
let´s see what will happen.
The differences are small, though: in non-interlaced modes the automatic
FPS timings are now set to 49.76 FPS (PAL) or 59.82 FPS (NTSC).
- calb of the ePSXe team suggested to add a "visual rumble" feature to
the gpu plugins: whenever the pad vibration kicks in, the display should
also start to shake. Ok, done... just remember, you have to enable this
feature in the main emu (pad configuration window), not in the gpu config.
And, of course, in some games the visual rumble can get very annoying...
- Last but not least a "most wanted" feature for widescreen users:
PSX games have usually a 4:3 width/height ratio. Therefore a 16:10
fullscreen mode (example: 1680x1050) will stretch the display in
an ugly way. If your monitor or your gfx card driver has no option to
display 4:3 modes correctly, you can now set a proper 4:3 "window
size" (in our example: 1400x1050) and activate the new "Use window size
in fullscreen mode" option in the plugin.
That will produce a proper display, of course with black borders on the
left and right sides of your monitor, but hey
- Ah, and another note for ATI users: please update to Catalyst 8.5 to
avoid glitches!

Linking To Movies Leads To $4 Million In Fines
in Gossip Café [/offtopic]

Ya they made no money off the links. They just indexed and cataloged them. The MPAA is just like RIAA, it's all about the money and how much can I get.
