you can do the formatting of the F drive after with xbox partitioner. The adapter on the left but require longer to powerup. X3 with flubber takes a while longer than usual with that adapter and iits possible thats why it worked. Least people know they work. I did no reseach buying my 1tb drive, just bought it and it worked no problem with the adapters

Yeah the adapter on the left worked in my pc too. I tried hdm2.2 and it build the hard drive and everything just never worked in xbox. But for whatever reason it did with x3
Did you all just skim over that wonderful post (by RatherAnnoyed), shame on you!What an insightful and well thought out post, I was beginning to think this place had all but been reduced to "we all love BP and will say and do anything to please him".
I recently recieved the same sata adapter, and tried it with two different hard drives. Neither worked on the Xbox, although they did on the PC. Hmm.. I have the one on the left too, no wonder I've been having trouble with it.

er whats this about hard drive formatting. Id rather not lose 1tb of stuff if i screw up with coinops???

the adapters do work. But there are sometimes different kinds.
These came from deal extreme (order them in advance because deal extreme can take 2 months to deliver)
the one on the left was loaned to me whilst mine arrived. I had a lot of problems with this adapter. It only worked on my Xecuter3 chip with the flubber enabled in the bios
It wouldn't with the 1tb, 2x500gb and 160gb sata drives that i have on 1.0tsop 1.0 Duox and 1.6 softmodded box
the one on the right worked with both my 1tb and 500gb incidentally all seagate

what is the best way to upgrade when you add games and videos? I just retransfered off back from xbox into pc and ran the torrent over it?

I have about 5 hours left here so i can help seed when done. IPtorrents; i am not a member there is there open signups?Perhaps a site like UG would be more suitable though that site is invite only.I love UG but my only issue with UG is if a newbie to the site grabs a huge torrent like CoinOPS then they might get banned before it even finishes...
I will check UG to see what the limitation is....
I suggest IPTorrents where it can posted as freeleech so it does not count against your ratio but you still have to seed or you face a ban.

I missed all the of the drama as i come across coinops later than others.
I am glad there is a torrent(thanks) that I can use to 'upgrade', since i had 18GB version already. I was complaining about the torrent site. KAT is just another piratebay, torrentspy, torrentjunkie etcetc. Welcome to leechers. I can't see people staying on the torrent to seed it well afterwards. Perhaps a site like UG would be more suitable though that site is invite only.
So just to say i was complaining about torrent sites and not about this project of which i love

i have no idea why KA Torrents was used to seed. Public sites are the shittest and slowest and leech scummy on the net.
Im trying to 'upgrade' coinops. as i had the 18GB version. is there any other way of getting the extra 7GB rather than this infuriatingly slow torrent?

no worries...I can add in booting to other EMUs easy enough as no one that counts voted for a new core added at present....but I can make bootable paths to other non supported emus...dphane, amiga, spectrum etc....I dont want to clutter CoinOPS with stuff people dont really want -
i have an xbox here that is just for gaming so i have it booting to coinops... What a great thing it is
There are way too many spectrum games. Spent many years of youth playing on spectrum 25 years + hehe
Not too bothered over adding spectrum games to the list. But rather just an option to add the emulator the way you can add other apps like these

i have no idea how the .ini works so i have no clue to how to set it to true

advanced settings are unlocked but it wont allow me access to them in coinops

damn cause the way the ini was loading in notepad i was setting the wrong thing
The otherway is to open the save...e://tdata/coinopssave/mameox.ini and find the text BootXBMCusingXBMCshortcutxbe and make it true....this will then boot the short cut in the root of CoinOPS...called XBMCshortcut.xbe...so replace that xbe with a proper shortcut to XBMC then if that setting is enabled it will now have an option to Boot to XBMC in your start menu...and you wont need it in games....leave it in till you get it going to be safe...theres more in CoinOPS than most people know

now that i understand how to add games, apps etc Ive decided to build up a xbox purely for gaming, and since CoinOPS is so fantastic I wrote up this guide for those that want to have CoinOPS as dashboard w/xbmc listed so you don't have to put a rescue disc in the drive every time you want to do maintenance
I don't know if this works as well for softmod i guess it does.
This guide was written, trial and error with a TSOP FLashed Xbox
Works same as TeamXBMC's shortcut
Create a .XBE File that points to your CoinOPS default.xbe with xbe shortcut creator
Example f:\emulators\coinopsepic\default.xbe
my bios looks for evoxdash so i name this file evoxdash.xbe yours maybe different
create .cfg file that states the same and name it accordingly mine is evoxdash.cfg
Example F:/Emulators/CoinOPSEPIC/default.xbe
place these/overwrite them where your bios looks
to have XBMC Listed in coinops
create .XBE file that points to your XBMC
Example E:\apps\xmbc\default.xbe
name the .xbe file XBOX_XAPP_XBMC.xbe
and place it in the root folder of coinops
now create a .zip file(empty file) and name that XBOX_XAPP_XBMC.zip
place that in your roms folder
now coinops will load and you can boot xbmc from within coinops

is it possible for you to add to search network and add smb like you do for adding source for XBMC
for now i just swapped xboxes over. I have softmod for my room and hardmodded one for downstairs. My head hurts trying to get the smb working

still cant figure out the SMB stuff so decided to put hard modded xbox in main living room
was trying with mameox too... no joy their either. I followed the intstructions in the mameox readme but still no joy. Also copinops seems to have the network settings missing and when i enter the SMB path into the roms path when i press back it freezes and i have to reset xbox

you have to pay for newsgroups. You can get it on UG. The one on Newsgroups is a little corrupted( when i grabbed it) (couple of the N64 roms) but if you go on torrent site you can get the last 1%
I would reccomend Astraweb if your going for newsgroups for first time. They do a 180GB deal for around 20USD and have no time limit to use it. And you get FAST Speeds. I downloaded the 18GB torrent in just a few hours
