  1. Owned. :P ForceX is the man.

    Thanks FreshyK :banghead:

It is a real biatch especially when we get guests with little punk kids who think they are l33t and they try to hack the system + they keep on getting viruses etc while they look at porn or try to download illegal software....But I teach them a lesson by getting access to their laptop and bring a message up on the screen saying that they have been detected in an unauthorized area..the police have been notified...they usually crap their pants and get their parents to talk with me...

  2. Man....networking is weak....I know 10 year olds who know how to network their computers etc....

Pssh, try networking a handful of servers running 4 different variants off linux while using a windows machine to ping them all just to check if their even on the same vpn.

hahahahaha trust me when I say that networking is simple....although the webserver component gets more complex it is still quite easy if break the problem down into simpler problems.

PS...I am currently running a network through my parents entire hotel, which is 20 storys tall and I had to do the cabling because the damn builder used the wrong cables...We have machines that are running linux, windows, unix etc and then I have to ensure that all of the guests computers that they bring with them are working fine with the network and ensure the security of all of the computers hooked up to the network + maintain the security for the wireless connections... :thumbsup1:

  3. I'm 14 emsly, why? Is there something wrong with a 14 year old actually trying to accomplish his life long dream?

WTF...your only 14 and you are worried that you will be to old to become a game developer if you don't become one soon? I don't understand your logic....

Its great that you have the will to accomplish your dream but your making it sound as if your about to die or something...

You still properly haven't hit puberty yet and your already stressing? Man I can just amagine you when you hit high school let alone university....

Your time will come...as the old saying goes Good things come to those that wait

  4. Im currently learning Visual C++, next year im taking Visual Basic and JAVA, there used to be a networking class in my school, I don't know what happened to it tho..

Don't waste your time with networking classes unless you want an easy grade...its a waste of time.

I had to do it in my first year of university and after about 1 week I stopped going ot class and just worked on the assignments and exams and ended up getting a high distinction... :thumbsup1:

  5. As it stands right now I know and can program in the following languages:-

    Java

    C

    C++

C# (This is the new C sharp that M$ created for its.Net arcitecture)

    SQL

    PHP

    HTML

    XML

    Python

    Javascript

    Lingo

    Visual Basic

    Perl

    :punk:

That's an impressive list. I would have gone ROFLOL is you would have said COBOL or FORTRAN.

Yeah, FORTRAN isn't even a programming language per se.

Theres no point learning languages that you won't need.. :D

  6. Let me appologize if the following post offends you Drake...

Firstly, let me say that you are kidding yourself if i believe that you can become a great videogames developer in a short period of time, hell it would take you years to be even noticed by the people who really matter in the videogame industry (Unless you have contacts in the industry). There are many talented programmers who wish to be videogame programmers but they are not cut out for it....I know this because my bro works in the videogame industry and it took him years to get where he is today (If you don't know he is working for M$ on the Xbox development...and no he has not told me anything about Xbox 2 :afro:) and from about 300 applicants only 6 were employed and the rest had their dreams crushed...

If you are only just starting to learn C++ then you are a long way from working for a development house. But if you want my advise I would say try to get a job as a videogame tester, this will give you a foot in the door as you will make many contacts who will be able to help you relize your dream.

Finally, I would suggest that you either work on some mods for some existing games or try your hand in creating an emulator as this will give you some insight on the way the console actually works...
