  1. Heh... guess its been some time since I Tekkened it up on 6, as I dont even vaguely remember breakable walls. I can think of 2 breakable floors though no prob. Perhaps... Im so anti wall that I've never been blasted through, or smashed and opponent through one. I gotta check this out... since I didnt know about it.

  2. ...

Why does this happen to me?

I can find the most obscure, unheard of things no problem. How the hell did you find this so damn quick? I tried so many variations of searches...

Anyway, thanks... and currently working on this

EDIT: No go. it just isnt working

  3. Ahhhh and I hate puns... whats wrong with me?

    Inky mentioned Kaillera

It'd be great if some of us can get on some old school games like Me, Cinder, Drake, Diso and a few others did on Unreal Tournament 99. (Thanks again Cinder for setting up our own server, that was badass) Yea shooters with FuManchu, Old fighters with Inky, Solidius, Wizard and whoever else likes fighters. Platformers whatever...

Was our Arcade section filled with Garbage or awesomeness? I joined late 07 and it was already gone.

There arent many of us left here but it would still be awesome to get on some old school greatness. I wonder, what would it take for me to work it... If it were MAME only that could do this, then Id have to get a version of MAME that'd run on this mac to run the appropriate programs... and with no support for macmame... Perhaps a simple emulator to ... lol Emulate windows, to Emulate a game, when the game itself is an emulation of reality. (in a matter of speaking) If I were to do this I believe space time would rip open and swallow up this half of the room.

It'd be a pop shot... at best the quickly dumped bandwagon. Some of us would give it a go, but then everyone would get bored. Fuck all-yall someone should play 5 or 6 playthroughs of D&D Shadows over Mysteria with me! FuManchu... how about a few runs of Darius Gaiden? My absolute favorite. Yea I like doing runs. I often grind a game to dust. Im always always the last guy playing a game. Red Dead Redemption... How many times did we play Inky? Solidius? Hell even my buddies stopped playing after 2 weeks... Me running around wrecking shit without ya. I think it boils down to practical infinite free time, no life, and an insatiable appetite for gaming.

So I wonder, who would want in on some occasional gaming?

  4. EDIT: well damn. I've been running in circles over this for about 24 hours now. I really grind when it comes to tinkering...

    It's quite easy to find
    he says

You know it should have worked... The rom files are always the same. The .cfg and .nv are just saved settings, scores, and progress... etc. This should work. I know Im new to this side of emulation, but it begs to reason that this is fucking bullshit.

  5. HAHAHA you knuckle neck... you had the CFG files on your site Agozer... lol thankslets see... Ahhhh there is the change.... lets see if this works.

    WTF!!! I opened the .CFG

As it should be, it is the exact same as the .nv. I change it but it doesnt work. !@%$#(&!#$P%(&!@(P#&

Double edit: Hmmmm not the exact same.... There is 2 places that change 0 to 1. I believe this was the change but there is different info at the bottom of your .cfg, but the rest is a carbon copy. I figured Id just change the 0'2 to 1's but that didnt work, then i changed the .cfg to .nv and that didnt work. I WILL get this... eventually

  6. Well Im currently grabbing whatever... wish I could just get the fucking hex readout...

Well I grabbed a ZiNc file last night... perhaps not what I need Ill get ZiNc running on this mac and then I should just be able to use the ZiNc trainer to unlock the characters. Figure Ill get it running that way and hopefully ZiNc runs better. This is pretty flawless but could use a bit of framerate help when shit goes down.

  7. I have been looking but my resources are limited... I am on a Mac, its all I have at my disposal. I cannot get any version of mame for it to run the mame cheats. I need special characters cheat enabled for Street Fighter EX2 plus [sfex2p(990611)] on mame. ( Kairi, Shadow Geist, Garuda ) Once the characters are selectable I need the sfex2pa.nv from the NVRAM folder.

Im requesting the small readout of a hex editor from sfex2pa.nv once these cheats are enabled. The .NV files are relatively small so its no issue to cut and paste the Hex readout.

If you are able to help and need the cheat files, just nab the appropriate version file from Pugsy's Cheats According to the Help file within (at least for v136) All you need to do is drop cheat.zip in your mame directory, open mame.ini in text edit, " Find '### Mame CORE misc options ###' and change 'cheat 0' to 'cheat 1'. " save, run the game, turn cheats on, make sure extra characters are selectable (23 characters), minimize, go to NVRAM folder, open sfex2pa.nv in a hex editor, cut and paste it in a PM to me.

I have been at this for some time now... Fumbling away at things im unfamiliar with... I cannot find a .nv file for ex2p but instantly found one for SFA3... go figure. Hey I used a hex editor for the first time yesterday, so I dont even have a basic understanding of hexadecimal addressing. If I try and play with this I'll be here forever.

    Im tired...

    Help!

Anyway, Im back on the search. Ill begin looking for another way, either falling across exactly what I need, stumbling upon the right region of HEX as I mess with it, or somehow find a way to increase the timer so it thinks Ive had the game running forever.

  8. I dont speak Japanese but I followed along pretty well. The stages... break away walls opening up more arena. Also it looked like that homo jumped off the wall and over the head of the the attacker to turn the table. They showed that box that looks to read your passport card... sounded like he said "live feed" hmmmm. Well perhaps in Japan at 1G/ps internet speeds they can do that... but we (USA) are not so fortunate. Im lucky to have 25/mbps!

And as I hoped, the tag system looks awesome! Lots of interesting combos and I like the wall break/fall 2 stories/combo continue via tag craziness!

Then they mentioned customization... BULLSHIT! I bet, and I hope Im wrong, that it'll be just like Tekken 6 where most character has maybe 3-4 different shirts/jackets and pants with a bunch of different colors, more sunglasses than shoes, and the same old same hair stiles... but with alot of hair accessories! YAAAAY But really, if they put some time into this... it can be bad ass. Heres to hoping!

Whatever. Im just tired of my Brian Fury looking stupid and my Haihachi looking totally awesome.

This game is looking better and better.

  9. Well said.

If I had a hand in it, Id bring concepts together to make a unique gaming experience. That, in itself is very hard. Very very hard to come up with what I'm saying. Im not talking about some silly mechanic added on... Im talking about a re-thinking of how these games are played.

You can attack/counter/defend, use special moves/combos with various weapons etc etc etc. If all they do is make a gorgeous revamp of old shit... I wouldnt be surprised... One avenue Id look into is how other games handle attack, defense and countering. Look at Bushido Blade, Soul Calibur, Fighting games like Tekken/SF even DBZ. Id look into various aspects of customization, Im talking weapon and character. Im sure we all could think tank a marvelous idea or two...

But the same 'ole same just isnt cutting it anymore. I find myself playing more obscure titles because they had the freedom to do whatever they wanted... and ended up making a game that rocked, a game that was FRESH. Darwania +, Defense Grid, Ill spare the list.

  10. Well dont expect a mountain of content. It is indeed a console RPG so expect average game time around 40 hrs. When I think D&D I think endless content. Oh BTW, Bio-Wares games are based on D&D rolls. You dont see these rolls but the games engine is based upon this principle. Natural 20 and all that. Unless that was just for older games (KOTOR) and this game isnt included. If it IS so, funny coincidence.

  11. Hell yea Skullomania is pretty damn strong. His moves are easy to pull off and they cover so many situations. I liked alot of the characters from this series.

    Side rant

When I retrieved a movelist, I noticed Garuda, Kairi, Shadow Geist and Hayate. They are not selectable yet and I am currently trying to remedy this.

    One source says

    Play as Kairi and Shadowgeist:

The total of each entry in the Score Ranking should be equal or more than 500,000 points (one character per entry so all characters must be in the ranking with 500,000 points each)

Operator's Code - turn on the machine and go to Test Mode (similar to a PC's CMOS BIOS setup containing options for monitor settings, microswitch diagnostics...), go to the Color Menu, and input the following button sequence using the Player1 (P1) buttons (assuming the default settings for button strengths are enabled): Fierce Punch (HP)

    Play as Nanase and Garuda:

These extra characters can only be activated only after Kairi and Shadowgeist are activated

Player - the total accumulated points of all entries in the Score Ranking should add up to equal or more than 28,000,000 points (including Kairi and Shadowgeist)

Operator - turn on the machine and go to the Test Mode screen, go to the Color Menu and input the following button sequence using the Player1 (P1) buttons:MK -

    Source

    And another says

    Time release characters (Arcade only)

Garuda, Shadow Geist, and Kairi each become available after the machine has been operating for a long period of time.

    Source

Well F2 brings up the Service Mode and I can get to the color menu from there... its the basic Configuration menu. If I Tab then go to Dip switches, there are 2 unknown switches... they do nothing, (I guess) thought baybee itd be the characters... Im currently running through with each character and just chipping away at this score trial (assuming this is the actual way to unlock the characters) I remember seeing something where someone was manually altering high scores. I looked to do this but didnt remember what he did, and cant currently find that material I read it in.

I look for cheats, hoping I can find some kinda file to grab or something to get this working, but all I ever find is PS cheats.

I downloaded the owners manual for the cabinet but there is NO mention of this AT ALL. How fucking lame is that?

Ahh well. Time to chip away somemore... hopefully it is indeed the score method... seems weird but I saw a video of it working for SF EX. The instructions on the first source are pretty specific... the characters to unlock are indeed from EX2 plus. Hope it works... Otherwise according to the other source, without a quick fix I gotta let it run forever.

  12. I have gotten back into arcade emulation again lately and came across the Street Fighter EX series again. It's been sooooo long since I played any EX, last Century in fact. As I get into SFEX2+ I remember how much I liked this series, this branch of Street Fighter.

I never really got into SFIII but I am familiar with all other SF (fighting) games (to my knowledge)

Perhaps it's just nostalgia, but EX2+ feels more like Street Fighter than SF4. I have waaaay more fun on this over SF4. And Hakkan... WTF I said it once, again, It shouklda been Darun. When I last said this someone (I cant remember) said they treat the EX series like it never happened. And its true. The only things that came from EX is that guard crush thingy. Perhaps something else but whatever. These characters and move lists... Ryu with his multiple input hurricane kick, where as Ken retains the spinning version. Lots of other things ill not mention, but anyone who likes the EX series knows what I mean. Some of these characters ore overpowered... lol Garuda, but the game holds fast.

But lately SF has gotten different. 4 is solid, but it just doesnt feel the same anymore. I can play Alpha 3 or EX2+ and the feeling is there... And I still got it :)

Some have said as they grow older their reflexes slow... perhaps this is so but I totally destroy kids at old school games. Put some hot shot Black Ops kid on some goold 'ole Golden Eye on the 64... even with that busted ass controller I will obliterate.

  13. OK.

ME1 was alright but felt sterile... somewhat.

This feeling becomes apparent when you fist see ME2 in action. As the story progresses you can feel the difference.

Anyway there are 6 classes to choose from, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. I like Vanguard. You come across new teammates and each have their own advantages. You basically play as a 3 person team and wreck shit. Enemies are dynamic and have their own str/weak too. For instance weak to fire. You level up as you progress and customize your character the way you see fit. Between the Talents and Powers, you also have specializations. Lots of options for ability sets, and team combos. Ive seen a group of enemies frozen on the spot, all icy... Then I bowled them over and shattered the lot of them with my shockwave. At the press of a button, your teammates can go to the location your reticule is aimed, you let them attack or take cover, things like that. Like KOTOR at any time you can pause time to make selections like what move you and your teammates are about to do and on who. Then let it roll and everyone does their part instantly.

Take a sec to think about what class your going to choose. Like I said, I like

Vanguard: Charge and Shockwave are amazing. Bowl enemies away at a distance, or charge in and crush them all personal like. When Charging, you are invincible. You also have lift and throw and a barrier you can raise, not to mention Warp... that lowers theyre DEF and does damage over time. Choices of Fire or Ice ammo, pistols/shotguns, with perks like Health/Weapon Damage++/Melee Damage/Damage reduction/Power reload time. All this BEFORE you take specializations into account.

I really like the game. It's not often I play a game that takes itself seriously. This game is for adults. No silly bullshit, no fucking coming of age high school drama bullshit JRPG's are so fond of. No whining or annoying anecdotes. In fact every aspect of story and character interaction has a distinctly realistic feel to it. Sure its Psudeo Star Wars with lasers and robots and all sorts of shit... this game is more realistic than games that root themselves in the real... and I base this comparison on ME2's Lore, plot development and character interactions alone. It feels right.

    There. A short 1-2 by a fanboy.

    Hope that answers your question.

  14. Um yea... still no progress. Why the fuck would you TAKE OUT functionality for Hiscore keeping on the old games... this is a personal program. So what if there is a save state... (thats the excuse they gave for dropping the main support.) Got to add damn U files to get it to work... thats stupid.

Perhaps Ill look for some type of Win to Mac Diff file changer fixer thingy. Wow... how about I try to google that...

I dont know how diffs work exactly, but it should just change the "difference" the new coding provides right? Like Save hi scores etc... Well when I pop that diff open it looks like win command lines... on top of that half the damn thing looks part note pad rather than just a program.

  15. Wow that sounds simple. I had to get a driver for my PS3 controller to function on this Mac. Not... that that was hard or anything...

Yea Tab open the menu to set up controls. I suggest using the "input general/player 1 controls/" first. Set up basic buttons and dont forget to make select coins. You can of course input specific buttons for each game after that.

Now... back to my Street Fighter EX 2 Plus
