Ok, the same V roms are used by kof99, kof99nd & kof99p.
-
kool, plz take your time on it but in the mean time,lets see if you or anyone else can help me on this minor prob;
ok a few pages ago you said i you can use the crc to find the offset that you want for a rom, now i'm trying to edit for kof99p v4 rom to be 4mb instead of the 2mb thats set as. now i used the crc 78619EB4 and it gave me 3 locations:
0013B6F8
0013BAE4
0013BED0
and right before it was there was a 2000 which i'm guessing is showing the 2mb (not sure about that tho) so i'm wondering which do i change or do i change it all to 4?
also about the rom region, how do i go about changing that after making the changes?
To change kof99p V4 rom size & Rom Region for sound :
Go To : 0x0013BECE & replace 20 with 40
Go To : 0x0013BE7E & replace E0 with 00
Go To : 0x0013BE7F & replace 00 with 01
Don't forget all the kof99p V roms are the same roms used in the parent set : kof99.
-
man i wish someone could make a nice tutorial about hexing it as good as you and N3oGh0zt does cuz most of us don't know what hell to do unless its told to us in a simple to do manner hehe
I can do it, but I need time to write it.
-
ok i'll take my foot out my mouth about that hehe, but now you mentioned before that you can change the size of the rom ex:kof99p v4 rom from 2mb to 4mb, again now i'm a n00b at hexing, and i have tried doing what you mentioned a few pages ago but no luck
also what did you mean by fixing the rom region as well
Rom Region for sound : a kind of total size of all the V roms.
-
ok so your teling me you didn't hex anything at all and just used a dat file? this is confusing me even more hehe
I said I've already hexed default.xbe in using the names you can see on the previous post.
-
help me guys i'm tottaly screwed here!!!!! i some sort of a newbie emumaniac!!!
i started out with gameboy color the moved to snes! next thing u know i was
downloading Neo Geo games!!!!! but this damn confusing!!!!!
what r:
- non-encrypted roms
- dumped versions
- prototypes
ok, next mind-bending crap:
- how many Snk vs Capcom games are there
- can they be played on NRX or kawaks
- if so, how and from where (maybe a file name could help me)
correct me if i'm wrong
- Capcom vs Snk 1
- Capcom vs Snk 2
- Capcom vs Snk pro (?)
- Svc Chaos
- Svc Chaos plus
sry for the uberlong reply................
Capcom vs SNK series (in Arcade only) :
Capcom vs SNK : Millennium Fight 2000 (Made by Capcom on Naomi)
Capcom vs SNK : Millennium Fight 2001 PRO (Made by Capcom on Naomi)
Capcom vs SNK 2 : Millionaire Fighting 2001 (Made by Capcom on Naomi).
SNK vs Capcom series (in Arcade only) :
SNK vs Capcom : SVC Chaos (made by SNK Playmore on MV-S).
-
damn that looks good but i'm a total n00b at hexing as is unless i'm told what to look for
It's not really for the hexing I've posted in the previous post, it's the datfile I use to play those games with their names with Kawa-X.
-
is there any way for me to get kof2002 working on kawa-x......without the V roms that come with it? can i use any others? i DLed it once and the V roms were missing. i can't get anyone to send the whole thing again, so i just want to try it without them.
I've modified my own Kawa-X default.xbe to play those games without renaming or cutting :

hey Gouki can u either send me or point me in the direction to get cthd on my kawax i have a friend who also would like to know...thx
Originally, CTHD2003 for NRX come from
-
I've modified my own Kawa-X default.xbe to play games without renaming or doubling roms. It supports :
pim.zip, kof2k2nd.zip, mslug4n.zip, rotdn.zip, svcplus.zip, svcbl.zip (SVC Chaos bootleg without Plus) & CTHD2k3.zip perfectly.
Removed games : kof98.zip, rbff2.zip, kof99nd.zip, kof99p.zip, kof2k1nd.zip, s1945pn.zip & garoup (only prototype is removed, Garou MOTW predecrypted is kept).
-
tried out CTHD2003 using the neoragex rom and it runs with Kof99p driver but seems to have a bg music problem. Character voices and sound effects seem to be correct but background music seems off.
the NeorageX romset did not include a m1 and m1d.bin
only and m1, and 4 v roms.....
no time to test out other things tonight (thinkin about using the m1 and m1d from kof2k1 and hex it into the default.
but i dont know.....just playing around with this one since its not really a true neo-geo game.
just bored while i wait for ssv and mslug5.....heh
To avoid sound problems with CTHD2003 if you use KoF '99 prototype, you must edit default.xbe to change V4 rom size (2 Mb in 4 Mb) & change rom region for sound.
-
Is there a way you can run Street Fighter 1 on the Xbox?
It doesn't run with MAMEoX because of "Unable to start video emulation", but the CD game works well (there're some graphical errors) with PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16 emulator : Hugo-X.
-
You can play SVC with Kawa-X without cutting P1 rom in 2 parts.
To play SVC with 1 P1 rom of 6 Mb only :
For exemple, we use Strikers 1945 Plus predecrypted :
Lines of the original default.xbe :
0x0013A678 : 0000000000005000000000000A0000006C9F0D00
0x0013A68C : 0000000000001000FFFC8EFF02000000609F0D00

0x0013AA10 : 609F0D000000100000004000DDD4DFEF02000000
Lines of the modified default.xbe :
0x0013A678 : 0000000000006000000000000A0000006C9F0D00
0x0013A68C : 0000000000006000FFFC8EFF0200000000000000
0x0013A6A0 : 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000
0x0013A9E8 : 000000000000000000006000000000000A000000
0x0013A9FC : 6C9F0D000000000000006000FFFC8EFF02000000
0x0013AA10 : 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000
It's simple, I've replaced adress line for P2 by "000..." & put 6 Mb directly for P1 rom (& rom region too).
Then, in the default.xbe, where there are names of the roms, replace 254-p2.bin with.......... (you must write 0000000000 for..........).
-
well since theres plenty of time till mslug 5 and samurai sho 5 come out, i thought i'd just ask about Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2003, the one i got only has the c's, p's, m1 and s1 and i tried putting those into kof2k1nd set replacing the files i just said but all i get is a screwed up screen
the cthd2003.zip works fine in winkawaks with kof2001 but still get no luck in running this in kawa-x. also winkawaks doesn't decrypt the cthd2003.zip so i'm lost in what to do next
You must use CTHD2003 for Neorage X, you won't have glitched graphics & sound problems.
-
You mean there is a dump that works with NEOGRAGX........?
I have the Plus version and svcc
and numerous other patches
is there?
SVC doesn't work with NeoRage X. Some M1 & P1 fix roms allow to play SVC only in Practice mode (in Console mode) with NeoRage X.
-
Can someone help me.
My mslug4 rom does not have the c7 or c8 files and the c5,c6 and s1 crc are wrong.
How do i generate the correct crc for kawax

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the differences are between the original svc chaos rom and the 'plus' rom?
Also, I would be very grateful if someone could tell me where I could download the original.
Lastly, does the original rom work with kawa-x plus?
Thanks.
V0ID
SVC Chaos Plus doesn't really exist (it doesn't exist in MV-S & AES Cart), it has "PLUS" text at the beginning of the game & allows to play chara like Mars People or Geese Howard without code.
SVC Chaos doesn't allow to play chara like Mars People directly at chara select screen, without code.
-
Yesterday the game was recognized in the list but I kept getting "couldn't fine
ng-lo.rom" error messages. Man this is giving me a real headache. It's so frustrating.
Check you have put neogeo.zip bios in your roms folder, & check roms names in the neogeo.zip romset.
-
Thanks Gouki, but I don't think I explained the problem very well. I had already put it into console mode but when I reset the game I get a black screen with red writing saying
"Warning this rom cartridge is for use with original snk boards only. Copying of snk boards is prohibited and may result in severe civil and criminal penalties and will be prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law."
As I said before I hacked the matrimelee rom using the kof2k1 romset and am using Kawa-X 0.11. The game runs perfectly in arcade mode.
I would be extremely grateful if anyone could help me run the game in console mode.
Thanks.

Use P1 (CRC : D07B4032), it's P1 rom to use for Winkawaks & Nebula.
-
Thanks Gouki, much appreciated.
Do you know where I can find the correct P1 & P2 roms?
I used the ones which are supposed to be for matrimelee provided with Kawa-X Plus.

In downloading this complete romset :
-
I followed the instructions on the Kawa-X Plus website and got matrimelee working but there are graphics problems such as the health bar, spirit bar, time etc. are scrambled.
Its playable but I would like to get it running perfectly. I was wondering if anyone could help me or if this is the best I can hope for?
Thanks.
V0ID
p.s I have double checked that I named all the roms correctly and used the p1, p2 and m1 roms from the package provided with Kawa-X Plus. Could it have something to do with the NeoGeo.zip I am using?
NeoGeo.zip:
000-lo.lo
asia.s3.rom
sfix.sfx
sm1.sm1
sp-e.sp1
sp-j2.rom
sp-s.sp1
sp-s2.sp1
usa_2slt.bin
vs-bios.rom
Those problems are due to P1 & P2 roms you use. Use P1 (CRC : D07B4032), it's P1 rom to use for Winkawaks & Nebula.
Your problem isn't due to C roms, because Matrimelee C roms are decrypted.
-
Apologies for the double post and thanks for answering my question. Can anyone now tell me how to run Matrimelee in console mode with kawa-x?
Thanks.

Launch the game, then, press Right Stick to enter in Options Menu > Change Game Settings > System Type : Select Console Mode, then Reset game.
