So my money is on Daniel Bryan to close out the show as new WWE champion! Word on the street is that there are rumors circulating that perhaps CM Punk might even make an appearance. Stone Cold has already been confirmed. This is also a super amazing class of Hall of Famers for 2014 that I'm probably more excited to see the ceremony than Wrestlemania! Warrior, Ramon, Snake, Lita, and more. It's gonna be a wild ride and this time we actually can see the full thing on the network!
So who do you guys think is gonna win the main event? I'm just hoping it's not Triple H.

I've never even heard of Twitch.tv. I just briefly checked it out --- live video streaming of game play with chat rooms. How would this fit with showing emulators, etc.? Are we showing games that people are playing via these emulators? Broadcasting a network play using kaillera or something? I'm lost. Help me out

I broadcast on the channel twitch.tv/bambiemu I only use emulators like snes9x or mame. If you guys can decide on a good night I'll start up the feed and see how it goes!
Hmmm... how many viewers/views do you normally get broadcasting emulators?

Twitch doesn't work on my computer. Just a white screen. Youtube still works even though it says that support will be dropped any time now.
Please don't tell me you're still on Windows 2000.... it's time to move on my friend!!!

So I've been reading some Batman comics. I never really read any comics growing up, so all of this is very new to me. Stemmed from curiosity and seeing all the Batman movies, I wanted to check out the comics.
I started off with "Batman - The Killing Joke".... which was truly an impressively written comic. It was very thought provoking and even shocking for its graphic content. The ending leaves you with a wonderful cliffhanger as to how Batman deals with the Joker. I then read "Batman - Vengeance of Bane" parts I and II, but both left you wanting more, and seemed totally incomplete. I then decided to just read a single issue "Batman Beyond" comic from this year and was annoyed that there seemed to be no ending and simply appeared to be just nonsensical dialogue between Bruce Wayne and Barbara Gordon. Stupid shit, really.
I'm now reading "Batman - Knightfall: Volume 1", which is a collection of comics that tries to complete the story of Bane breaking Batman's back, and also includes "Vengeance of Bane", which I mentioned above. I'm about a 150 pages through of 600 and it's been entertaining, but not thought provoking in any way since reading "The Killing Joke". What gives? Are most comics like an old Jackie Chan movie? Lots of kicks and punches, but meaningless dialogue? I hope to at least have a conclusion with the Bane and Batman story this time. FYI - Bane in the comics is nothing like Bane in the "The Dark Knight Rises" film.
Someone help this newbie out.... please

So there's this cute blonde at my work place that I've been wanting to date for a while, but have no idea how to pop the question. I'm aware she's single and that she's dating guys, but that's about it. I know this sounds odd, but I am a bit hesitant to ask. What if it ends badly? What if it ends well? What if she refuses to be intimate, but only wants to be friends... then what? Awkwardness now at the workplace?
I'm not even sure how to start it. What do I say to entice her to meet up outside of work? Coffee, Beer, Lunch?
Any of you guys have experience with this?

English, french, saudi, soviet (all hail glorious Lenin!).
I skipped spanish and local dialects as it was more random mumbo jumbo than discussion-viable scraps.
Saudi = Arabic?
Soviet = Russian?

What are the four? My guess is you know French as well.

So I haven't watched porn for about a month now and I got to say it feels good. My mind is more clear and relaxed. I just hope I can keep this up (or down

). The problem with porn is simple --- some guys won't admit it, but it's human chemistry, and that over the years you need to get more and more hardcore just to get off. The human brain gets tired easily (i.e. taking the same pill over 10 years may not work anymore without increasing the dosage). And what I've also always felt is that porn also pushes us away from actually going after the women we want because the fantasy is somewhat and continuously fulfilled.Anyway, I normally would watch porn a few times every 2-3 weeks. I could also watch porn (flipping through a ton of videos) for about 3 hours straight before calling it quits. How about you guys?

I started the 1Emulation YouTube Channel back in 2006. Currently our stats are very abysmal -- 59 subscribers and 200,000 views. I haven't uploaded a video in years (we have 25 videos in total). Most of the videos I uploaded are from my reviews of gaming products at the time, as well as emulator footage of when Naomi was emulated.
What new videos do you guys suggest I upload? Should we continue using it?
Here's the link to it: https://www.youtube.com/user/1Emulation/videos
BTW, make sure to SUBSCRIBE if you haven't already! It would be nice to hit past 59 subscribers....
Anyway, would love your guys feedback on this!!

I've been currently studying French and it's been a rather slow process. There aren't many French speakers around me, but I am slowly trudging through with Rosetta Stone and some audio programs. Do you guys speak any other languages besides English?
I got into the French language after becoming a big fan of their music, arts, and style. They really seem like the originators of what we consider to be the front page of a Vogue magazine cover. Even watching their music videos from 30 years ago has had me saying that they were way ahead of their time. Their idea of romance and sexuality as well seems much more open and liberal as well.

Woah, this thread is a great idea! I'll have to watch the astronomy video tomorrow, but check this out:
Been seeing this all over the net today. Very heart warming video considering yesterday was April 1st (anybody remember when we called the place 1PornNation?)...

Great review! If you could kindly revise your review to follow our 1Emu Reviews forum: http://www.1emulation.com/forums/forum/36-1emulationcom-reviews-reviews/ ... this would indeed be the first 2014 video game review! So pretty much just follow the pinned threads and add some photos and I'll move this thread there.

Greetings and Salutations,
Nice to meet you all, I go by Phased pretty much everywhere, so I was quite pleased when I found this community with the name available. I like to think of myself as an oldschool gamer, I've even got a tv set up with my Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and PSX in the back.
I've got quite a busy schedule, but I feel like I might be able to learn a lot while I'm here.
I am a General Manager at a technology company and am the CEO of an Extracts & Flavor manufacturing company (we make Vapes!) I live in California where it seems like no matter how much you make you can never completely survive.
Well thats enough about me. I'll update my profile as time permits.
Welcome to the family!
Oh, very cool. I've definitely noticed a surge in vapes. Curious, how is that going for you (business wise)? I've heard of Halo Cigs, Vape4Life, Phantom Smoke, White Cloud, etc. There are definitely a lot. Do you sell them with nicotine as well? I personally don't use them, but I know many that do. -
I was baffled when the word "cloud" became so popularized in 2012. Everyone continues to and is now skydriving, dropboxing, etc. all the files on their PC to the Internetz. Soon enough we find out the Internet is totally being spied on and (not to mention the continuous concern of regular sites getting hacked since the infancy of the Internet) makes you think why anyone would put their personal files online? Can you really trust these companies with their "security" and "encryption" of your files? To make matters worse, Windows 8.1 by default has cloud integration deeply ingrained into the OS (see here: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2111442/how-to-disable-windows-8s-deep-cloud-integration-piece-by-piece.html).
So seeing as I know we have a pretty computer savvy user base here -- do any of you actually backup your personal files online? It would be cool to have a truly safe solution for non-local backups of files.

I tryed to subscribe the day it launched and the bastards pulled it from canada....I still want it though.
I heard some people signing up using a proxy and an address in the USA routed to Canada. Heard of anything like that being possible?

I haven't paid attention to professional wrestling in years. I used to be a big fan when Cable TV was the shit back in the day ... then it started seeming more scripted and less entertaining. Didn't realize McMahon was trying to start his own tv network. And to think ... Oprah beat him to it lol.
I'll never forget the Hulk Hogan v. Ultimate Warrior/Andre The GIant/Macho Man Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels v. Coldstone Steve Austin, Mick Foley v, The Undertaker, etc.
Coldstone Steve Austin? He's not an Ice cream cone
... it's Stone Cold
And yeah, it's true -- everything is scripted now which really sucks. They use to have only bullet points in the past, but now it's literally word for word lines fed to every wrestler. It has made the product pretty redundant and mundane, but what can you do...
-
1Emu has always been filled with wrestling fans and I being one of them. Been debating for a while if I should get the network as it's $60 for 6 months (not too shabby considering you get to watch all live PPVs too). Only problem is Watch-Wrestling (google it) already has all this stuff for free. Any of you guys subscribe to it? If so, what's the experience been like? Worth it or just enjoyable for the first 48 hours?

Here's the article they recently did on the network with Vince McMahon from Forbes magazine:

Was on reddit earlier today and stumbled on the trailer for the new TMNT and had to express my dismay:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCjsWpM9zFUFirst off -- this movie literally looks like a reincarnation of the Transformers series while replacing the autobots with turtles. And don't get me started with Megan Fox. Really? This chick looks like she had a crap load of plastic surgery and not to mention I would put money that the only reason why she's in this film is that she's sucking on Michael Bay's _______.
It's just sad to see Hollywood just rehashing these movies over and over. It's no longer about the art, but the money.

What is G+? Never heard of it. And yeah, pretty much agree with everything you said, but sadly it's not just Hollywood anymore. It's a new generation of self-entitled people who think they are famous. And I mean, why they shouldn't if they starred in a few short films or posed their ass or tits in a few modeling shots, while gaining a huge following?

I remember when TV commercials used to make sense ... now we have segments about skittlespox, and the world more interested in how Justin Bieber acts during a legal hearing than they do about much else. Twitter, unfortunately, has become reinforced by Hollywood as it's a way for free self-advertisement by people who work in the entertainment industry. I strictly use g+ but I'm afraid that service too will become inundated with mindless dribble from those who hop the trend bandwagon faster than an HIV outbreak. So I agree, the internet has become its own worst enemy in some ways, but it's better than being censored the way the Communist and Islamic governments deal with freedom of information.
I am glad too that this place remains, although it could use some activity other than posting to cement this community.
Do we have an #irc channel?

And we use to have an IRC channel for many years. I'm not sure I would be a proponent on reviving it though only because I always felt that it took away from activity here on the forums. What do you think?
g+ as in google+, my friend. And yes, I agree there is no shortage of pretentious young people nowadays who think much of themselves because of YouTube partnerships and Twitter. I mean ... it literally becomes a source of income for them, and while I admire those who have talent such as singers or musicians to put themselves out there in a competitive industry, giving back to the community is just as important since it's the community that inflated their egos to begin with.
I just watched this a little white ago and thought it relevant:
As for an irc channel, I suppose you have a point that it detracts from activity here, which would be a shame. We need a group project or something we can all get involved in to get things going, y'know? And not necessarily for gaming, although I have no qualms about that either lol.

Oh gosh, this son of a bitch (excuse my French), Mr. Fousey... I've seen quite a few of his vids and they are all utter bullshit. He adds his sentimental music in the background, dresses up like he's Martin Luther King, and does these "experiments", which are utterly ridiculous, and sometimes even at the risk of others being scarred for life (see the bullying and kidnapping videos he's done).
None of these experiments are anyway near scientific and are greatly flawed. A homeless kid walking on the street like that will most likely only raise one alarm in someone's head and that's "SCAM!!"
Crap like this needs to be banned from YouTube. Of course, he's probably getting thousands of dollars because everyone signs up and watches more of it for their daily entertainment. He's not fighting for any cause except his wallet. All of it is disgusting.
As they say, all you need is a few dumb people to make you famous. Indeed, he has done just that.
-
Nah, it's turned into a Twitter-tard ridden wasteland, full of "Selfie" picture taking idiots that don't realize nobody else is paying attention to them, because they're too busy taking their own "Selfie". But they have 5000 "Friends"...who couldn't take their picture for them.
Newsflash...Twitter sucks, 30 years ago someone taking "Selfies" all the time would be put in a straight jacket, and you aren't anywhere near as important as you think!
I've actually become quite bored with the internet in general, the average IQ MUST have dropped 20 points in the last 3-5 years, and I'm starting to agree with the tinfoil hat wearers that we're all fucking DOOMED.
To be fair, I have seen quite a few people with big followings have friends tag and take pictures of them, but sadly none of them are truly "famous". It's sad because a lot of this is truly not realistic, and, as a result, we get massive ego inflations, and just all-around jackasses roaming the streets. Most of all, he/she will probably believe he/she is more valuable and worthy than every other human on this planet.

It's a shame what the Internet has become in the year 2014. I have stopped counting how many shock factor videos and blogs I have ran into online. All these top 50 countdowns, prank videos, and obvious bullshit that keeps getting the people to successfully watch or partake in this trivial nonsense. So many message boards have died (glad we're still here! toast!) and as a result have led us to create virtual extensions of ourselves at the expense of our anonymity, privacy, and most of all -- our unfiltered word. I will always miss the past, but I also realize how wonderful, and rare a place like 1Emulation truly is. A place that still holds die hard members (some for nearly over a decade) that still share their life stories and can do so freely without persecution, prejudice, or thinking if I should have said this or that. Do you agree? Disagree? Agree to disagree? Would love to know!

Anyway, it's been a while since I posted a thread. My goal is to a post a new thread and news post a day. If I can do that, it will really help this place out, and I encourage you all to do the same if at all possible.

Hello Ghosti! Welcome to 1emulation! As the owner of this site since its inception in the year two thousand and two (2002), I wish you an amazing and pleasant stay.
As the others have said, it is only a mirage if it appears we're dead, as we are actually quite alive and breathing!
