Ok we can all agree that dips shit sites like twitter, facebook and whatever else these modern day wankers come up with has basically stolen the internet. We have been around long enough to watch this.

From the day of emulforums and our rom links to the squeaky clean 1emu site.

From what I can gather 1emu had its peak for around a year or two when it was legit, but during the emulforums days when we had a LOT of freedom people would come and go like a bloody good pub. Newsflash people are broke. We want free shit now, we want the quickest shit we can get a hold of.

The entire idea that 1emu is an emulation hub is flawed why?

Because everything you need to enjoy it is gotten from torrent sites and places that still have the balls to link roms.

1emu has NOTHING to offer.

Not even a strong user base.

My proposal if you want to see this place dragged along by the posters who still care for the place is to get bad ass again. That's right, linking whatever the hell you want. When you want, as you want. Maybe an exception for porn whatever.

Here are just a few examples of sites that get a shit load of "real traffic" and not the bot shit we are being tricked with here.

I dont download from file lockers sites as my speed aint good enough, but I do find out whats good and whats bad without second guessing a dodgy torrent site.

Emulation is dead - even advert@home is on its ass with the same handfull of posters from 5 years ago still toughing it out. Dont ya get it? The old school posters are all thats left of these once great sites.

We use the web and regurgitated information is used over and over again.

CUT this crap out. No social media site is going to magically lift the place, we need to go back to basics, batten down the hatches and share what people want.

If this all boils down to potential legal issues then why bother?

I'm getting wait times between 1.4 seconds to 2.9 seconds.

I should only be waiting for the RTT + 160 ms, which for me is around 350ms for a server response.

I've done a little profiling with the tools I know, but I can tell that Apache is not at fault here.

The causes would therefore be somewhere like in too much execution, such as something very heavy, (an example I can think of is ZenCart with PHP), or there's a problem with the MySQL server, or socket between PHP and the MySQL server.

I would suggest, temporarily using xdebug to grab a callgrind in a controlled environment

So, what I mean is that you have a subdomain with any random highly unguessable name, which runs a different version of php.ini

So, add something like ilikewafflesandbaconwbbq.1emulation.com as an entry as a virtual host in the apache configuration files, and then make a duplicate of the production php.ini, and make a new directory for debug uses.

Then inside that virtualhost entry.

where there's a php.ini inside of the /var/debug/php/ folder.

In this php.ini, the entry for xdebug would be enabled.

Make sure to set xdebug.profiler_output_dir to a directory where it can be grabbed via ftp

I wish you the best in this endeavor, but having a graphics which shows where the most time takes place really can help you find the cause.

I know i just gave very broad topics but perhaps we could have better flow if someone posts stories that every other forum has going on.

There are some news that have yet to be posted on 1emu, but when I view my other 5 forums that i visit, this topic has been thoroughly discussed/debated and still going on. Either way I thought it would be cool to look at the front page and see more than "new emulator released". (and yeah i know the website is called 1emu)

I know we do our own thing but that was just a suggestion.

P.S. - It is possible that you already do this and i just miss it, if that is the case then please correct me.

Would it be possible that the permission is not granted to regular users, but only those with say 50+ post count?

As soon as I'm on my laptop somewhere else, I have to login again, and the only reason I can see is that my IP address (Or even the entire range) has changed. So VERY annoying, as I'm at home...or over at my GF's, or on the go somewhere else. Then I hop on my desktop at home and if it's changed on the laptop, same thing and I have to login again.

It will let you type away, blah blah, but when you go to save it, its all gone. The new entry doesn't appear.

I can understand why a lot of people wanted to avoid it at first, mainly due to the lack of hacks as well as the lack of maturity of the code itself, but they have had a lot of time to refine and improve it. While my community isn't nearly as large or busy, I have to say I've had a pretty positive experience with 3.0.

Perhaps it's just me and my silly observations... we shall see!

Anyways there's an odd issue, I loaded the page for the forum and was greeted with a "Sorry You Don't Have Permission to Use the Forum" error, with the login box below asking me to login.

However I wasn't able to login, and still got the error mentioned above. I was finally able to login and post by changing the an alternate proxy by my ISP, and using a proxy to login. However using a proxy is quite slow with my connection, but I was unable to access the board unless I did so.

Any idea on why I am or was having this problem?

-Is it possible that we arrange the descending and ascending of latest and oldest post?(wat SHoma)

Wen you go to my main page, it should be latest(which it does) but when i switch categories, I would like it to go from oldest to latest automatically.

-ALso, I always thought the visitor posting on blogs was a neat idea.

-I wanted to fix up da blog to a more convenient Shoma feel, with at least some RV/PJ/Shoma backgrounds and themes but it seems that we are really limited in that area as well.(less restriction on editing one's blog).

These are just really small minor things that I wished would be updated and we all know there are much more vital things to work on but I just thought I would point out my 2cents on my fav part of 1emu.
