Burnong ie archives on a cd, need help

what i want to do is to burnthe sites i have saved on my hd on a cd but when i do that the site name is changed to a shorter one and so is it´s related folder but when i try to open the file the ie window is blank =( can someone please help me?

WHen using windows.9x you can just go to c:windows and make a straight copy of the folder called favourites. I have done this before to make a backup of my links and it worked fine. I just took everything from that folder and used Nero to burn it as a data cd. The filenames stayed the same too. I mean technically even if the name of the shortcut is changed, the actual shortcut should remain the same :D This is probably no help anyway. You are probably using XP too :)
