GBA flash advance linker & cart?

ME!

Recommended Posts

would any of you seriously buy one of these. i was thinking about it, but didnt really know that much about them till i did some reading. what i thought was, that a 128meg cart translated to 128 megabytes, but as it turns out, its 128 megabits. big differance! 128 megabits equals about 16 megabytes. they want like $150 bucks for one of these things. their biggest ones are about 64 megabytes in size, and they want almost $300! sure, it holds alot of games, but i mean come on, $300 dollars is insane. i'd just rather carry the games with me. it's not like they are very big. it amazes me what people will pay for these days. no wonder everyone i know is in credit card dept. instead of getting a credit card, they might as well had made a deal with the devil. they probably would have made out a lot better. but anyway, would you or have gotten one of these flash carts yet? i would if the price was alot lower. so what do you guys think?

I have a 256 Mbit flash cart and linker which equates to 32Mbyte in size. I can fit 5 or 6 games on it at a time depending on the size of the rom(also sometimes more when you trim them). I think what you are forgetting is that when you pay $200-$300 for your card, you are also getting every GBA game now and until it dies, for free. You also get to play the latest releases in Japan (and the USA if you live in Europe) way before other people. You can also use emulators and homebrew stuff and play mp3s and crap on your GBA. I have 400 gameboy advance games :) Now if I had paid for all those it would have cost me about $11,000!!! I think you catch my drift ;)

PS Yes I did buy all those 400 games, honest :(:

PPS The only problem you might have now is that Microsoft & Nintendo killed Lik-Sang (the makers and biggest distributers) of the Flash linkers. You should still be able to get them from other HK sites and maybe even some in the USA.

it isnt that i dont understand or am foregetting about being able to have all those roms at my disposile. the only thing i have a problem with is the price. others may think it is well worth the cost, and maybe they are right. but as far as i am concerned, when shopping for my next big hardware purchase, i will probably choose something else (like my gamecube, which i am getting this christmas!:(: ). maybe, eventually, i will purchase one. the thing is i probably shouldnt wait that long, like you said, they already killed off lik-sang. i will maybe by mine at Gamegizmo buy the way, an american based site. but anyway, thanks for your input, it has helped alot. now i am leaning more towards getting one, "eventually", than before. thanks.:)
