neogeo cd emulation on xbox is pretty good, you have 2 choices for neogeo cd emulation.

1.NeoCD-SDLx V1.01 by lantus

this emulator only plays original neogeo cd games from the dvd drive,it wont backups/copies from the dvd drive or the xbox hdd.

2.NeoGeoCDLX unleashed by gogoackman

this emulator is your best option as it plays neogeo cd rips from the xbox hdd or dvd drive.this emulator emulates the negeo cd really well.to play this emulator with backups your file format must be iso/mp3.

the interface for this emulator is pretty bare bones there are some filters but not much.this emu is your best option.

check your pm.

Unleashed is a great emu, but the game list only shows 10 games at a time. You can actually have as many games as you like installed on your hard drive and keep hitting down to load a game, but the list won't scroll and show you what it is. I had 20 games installed and just remembered how many times I had to go down the list for certain games.

If this hasn't changed since the last time I used unleashed then it certainly should! It seems like a simple fix to make a fine emulator really really functional.

I've been playing around with this emulator recently too - its really great and has the best scanline filters I've seen on Xbox. I did notice a few things though, which are noted below:

1.NeoCD-SDLx V1.01 by Lantus

>> This is the most up-to-date version of the emulator. It added support for 720p and fixed a few games, including the NeoGeoCD exclusive CROSSED SWORDS 2.

2.NeoGeoCDLX unleashed by gogoackman

>> This is a modification of Lantus' V1.0 source code, it only supports up to 480p and does not include the fixes implemented in the V1.01 release. Also, as stated above, the interface is lacking.

It would be great if someone out there who knew SDLx could take a look at doing the following:

- Adding a proper front-end with a scrolling game list. Nothing fancy - simple, like CoinOps, with maybe screenshots displayed as you scroll through the game list.

- Adding 720p support

- Implementing the fixes from Lantus' V1.01 release

Hey Fu,

Thanks again for that new 68k rom! :D

I've played it too, but there must be something up with it. From the contents of the v1.01 info:

What's new/fixed:

* Sprite Priority Fix (Crossed Swords 2/Last Blade 2 etc)

* Added 480p and 720p modes. Automatically selected depending on dash settings.

crossed swords 2 plays just fine on neocdlx unleashed, played it a few times without any problems.

I would like very much to make a gui skin for this emulator, I have some good idea's for artwork design etc :)

It would be nice if it was updated to support a gui.

going to bump this post as i would like to see a new skin for this emu as well.

@philexile never knew about those 2 bugs,i am messing around with some neogeo cd emulation just now so i might have to take closer look at those 2 games.
