So I had a hdd failure, and finally found a cd-rw that my xbox would see, and installed my modded dash all over again, but I swear I didn't have this much trouble getting my Metal Slug roms to load up in FBAxxx before.

Can someone tell me what I would need to get (not WHERE to get it) so that I can run these games?

I might be using the wrong rom version or something, but I have no clue how to check that, right now I have:

FBAxxx Pro 1.28

Neogeo rom

Metal Slug - Super Vehicle-001
Metal Slug 2 - Super Vehicle-001/II
Metal Slug 4 - Plus (bootleg)


They show up, but when I try to load the Metal Slug rom, I get

"Launching Game...201-p1.bin was not found"
"201-s1.bin was not found"
"201-c1.bin was not found"
"201-c2.bin was not found"
"201-c3.bin was not found"
"201-c4.bin was not found"
"201-m1.bin was not found"
"201-v1.bin was not found"
"201-v2.bin was not found"
"neo-po.bin was not found"
"neo-epo.bin was not found"
"neo-debug.bin was not found"
"uni-bios.22 was not found"


Metal Slug 3 says:

"263-m1_decrypted.bin was not found"
"neo-po.bin was not found"
"neo-epo.bin was not found"
"neo-debug.bin was not found"
"uni-bios.22 was not found"



And none of them work... So I don't know if I am using unsupported roms...

You have to use the DATs off FBA-XXX Pro and scan your romsets with, especially your neogeo.zip ( i can see in your error message that some bios are missing)

Aren't even in my neogeo rom/bios...

I have:

asia-s3.rom
sfix.sfx

usa_2slt.bin
vs-bios.rom


And I may be wrong, but I was positive that I leave all of these zipped...

And my last statement, I don't remember how to scan my roms with DAT files... I know I have two of them, and I "think" I scanned them, and all it says is "re-scan roms". I have it setup to not show broken roms, and I know this is easy to fix, I just don't remember how to get it up and running right..

It's been a while since I booted up my xbox with it working, I just can't remember. I need to "sudo apt-get install fbaxxxproropmpackage" or something... (stupid joke)

Did you turn off the CRC checking in the FBA-XXX settings?

Ok...
Maybe you should do the following:
- Make a very clean install of FBA-XXX 1.28
- Go to BT-Sky and get the full FBA set started/seeded by the user VIDIKRON
- Use the roms from there.
- Turn off the CRC Check

(I hope that my three phrases above are not against the Forum rules...)

I would love to say Yes with some certainty, but I was just FTP'ing to the box off of unlabeled dvds. So it's really possible that the roms are wrong, except the ms3 rom, it's the only version I ever had, and I know it worked with this version of FBA.

I know I'll need to find/fix my neogeo stuff, cause none of my roms are seeing it, but they aren't finding the actual files they are looking for within the rom rar's either.

@slinkey1981.1 solution would be to download BAED3b as that has the full neogeo romset and cps1 and cps2 games and also all of those cave shooters.its an older version of fba but its worth a try.

Yeah... that's like 3.6 gig ISO (maybe I was looking at the 3a), which really sucks, cause I am currently forced to use satelite with a 385Meg cap before I FAP my units internet...

Thank you for the help, but downloading that ISO is not really something I can do right now.

No you're absolutly right, let them zipped

Install Romcenter, add your DAT with browser. Then click on file, preferences and finally the romsets panel, and select the "split" option (also take a look at reparation panel, the only option i don't personnaly use is "create fake roms"). Then you're ready to scan romsets.
