I always, always, always, always, always, *and so on* play a game on easy mode first. It usuallygives enough of a challenge. I think of standard and hard modes as "extensions"

 

As for Sin and Punny, it's very easy until the last level (Keep your finger on the load state button!). I'm still stuck at Planet Mimicry so that seems to be the only place I need to use a gameshark.

 

For some strange reason, if I play through a game with GS codes first, I find myself better at it when I play through again without them.
