Well people at the moment ad aware is leading the race in the detection stakes, it now comes with a built in "scan for updates" button,
spybots last turn was version 1.1 if you check there site
http://beam.to/spybotsd

It says there is a new version realeased 1.2 however scan around and you will find it is not present on the site :)

Ad aware is leading the battle, today i had scanned my system with spybot and it got rid of everything...or so i thoght, now with the new version of ad aware it raped and found an amazeing 108 new componeants within my machine, which spybot had missed out.... :)

Yeah everyone was pissed off at Lavasoft because there were no Ad-aware updates coming out. Turned out the reason was because they were giving it the program a complete overhaul. They seem to have more regular updates now than they even used to and the search process that it does seems much more thorough (more like a virus scan). Death to spyware! :)
