>> 272-m1d Patch ADEEBF40 to B5ABDA07

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Here is another patch thanks to IQ that gives you a 512k rom CRC 3a75c37

Just put the 272 m1d CRC B5ABDA07 into the extracted folder then run the RunMe!.bat

Hey James, the patch you gave me gives a crc of E5EADC1E, not B5ABDA07,although it does sound ok (tested with Galford and Ukyo against Kyoshiro and Yoshi). I used ucon.exe for the patching. Is this a different dump?

its a patch which it clearly says that.

its a decrypted m1 patch which is now becomes m1d I still have the encrypted m1 in Mame even though its not needed.

If anyone uses the decrypted ssv set the m1 crc ADEEBF40 is not needed or used
ugenn
that did the trick. thx again.
ugenn
This is how the decrypted-only set should look like (the names may differ cos this uses NRX naming convention), but the crcs shld match...

You got drivers that can decrypt the encrypted m1? Otherwise the encrypted m1 is useless, even for the encrypted set.

Its loaded but not used.

Thanks james for the patch, the sounds and voices are top-notch now.

JAMES YOU BEAT ME TO THE M1!!!!!!!! in the FINAL ROM RACE!!!!

now all that is left to do for neogeo for me is make a new FBAxxx that has all roms...i hope we see some neogeo emulators reach the v. 1.0 state now that the roms are all here

props to james for the find

Thanx in advance

Download this:
vconv_+_vconv2.rar
put your encrypted Vs into the same folder as the extracted.exe files
run vconv or vconv2 (try both, as I'm not sure which one is exactly right)
and then just merge the 4 Vs together.
sammaz
i cant find the encrypted v roms...thats the problem all the sets im getting have the samsho5.zip v roms in it
James
Here is another patch thanks to IQ that gives you a 512k rom CRC 3a75c37

Just put the 272 m1d CRC B5ABDA07 into the extracted folder then run the RunMe!.bat

i can assume both works properly, i used the second vconv tool to extract and i got a different CRC when all VxDs are merged (compared to the James "godly" set tongue.gif). differences are most likely virtually non-existent

however i did notice some "bugs", the music doesnt end right in final round, but that may be due to my driver defaulting Fatalities to ON (since UniBIOS seems to be aware of it). i havent tested a lot though.

That Bug is an actual AES flaw. If you run the Unibios2.0 and open up the cheat menu, you will find one of the cheats to be "Fix AES Win Sounds".

From the Raz regarding changes in Unibios2.0
QUOTE
Added a cheat to fix the round win sounds that were broke in the AES original cart.

So far the uni bios 2.0 says the CRC's are 100% correct But never been sure if this checks all roms.I will not use that patch code in the driver for Fatalities it cause other bugs ( one is that the level inicator cannot be turned off ) I just use the uni bios for Fatalities.
Agozer
there's also a graphical bug present in the POW flame (when the meter is not full, odd) for the second player, I suspect that this is an S1 issue.

Just play Practice mode and hit the opponent a few times and the bug might reveal itself

Dont forget that this dump is the AES dump. There is still the MVS dump to hope for as it would be the ideal dump of this title (no need for fatality fixes, etc).

I don't think the dumps will change anything. The difference is all in the BIOS.

The bios is something that is in the hardware (Neo-Geo AES unit) and for the most part, does not change unless a user modifies their system. Same goes for actual MVS arcade unit - the bios is a physical chip on the motherboard which needs to be replaced.

In order for SNKP to tinker with the game so that the AES version is censored, they had to have messed with the program code. (which they did). The MVS version (the original and untouched version) has all the original code where the violence level is not tampered with, etc as well with a slight difference in the introduction sequence (from what I understand).

People with AES systems and HOme carts of this game are blessed to have someone like RAZ on their side since he was able to circumvent SNKP's censorship with his unibios2.0(which for Home system owners, is the equavalent of a MODCHIP). As some have mentioned; however, there are few little annoyances with using the codes.

For those interested in a perfect rom image that would not need a special bios to run flawless, the MVS dump would be it. Thats all im saying.

Im quite happy with the rom As-Is. Only thing is that FBAXXX isnt the best in emulating a rom's sound (has nothing to do with the rom though).
Swithin
Actually, I believe that the Neo is somewhat unique in that there is a bios chip on every cart. Correct me if I'm wrong, however.
James
The Bios is not on the cart The program rom has the support for whatever bios is in the MVS or AES unit.

Only the Jamma PCB version has the bios on the same board as the roms.

Yes it will.

No sound bugs, because its unique to the AES version.

Also no need to fix Zetsumei Ougi, cuz AES version was censored of it.

If the sound still isn't correct, chances are your Vs need replacement. The most common ROM of this in circulation is the ones using SSV v-roms (v1-v4) which give the wrong voices. If you hear Sankuro's or Yumeiji's voice whilst playing SSVS, you need to change your V-roms.
