I read recently that you intended to code your "FBA" from scratch using the newer PC code.
The best way, but you didnt need me to tell you that ! lol.
What im asking is, do you have a resident site where you report progress, updates and changes ?
I know there's a lot of buzz around this new project from people end user side.
On a site where im a member we have daily discussions about the possibillities.
Theres a real positive charge about the place and although "i haven't" been voted as a mouth piece,
i've took it upon my self today to see if i could request an update (bi-weekly / weekly) as things develop.
I understand if your are reluctant to be drawn to public forums for comment after the latest round of "hair pulling".
Im sure your more than aware that people have a great interest in this project.
If you decide not to comment on the subject then, no harm done.
Here's hoping.

Progress is good. I'm not going to do another Final Burn. I am trying to get FBL in a good "1.0" state. The port is complete. I am working on getting games working that require VM. Martial Masters is almost certainly not worth the effort. The simplest PGM games don't run fullspeed so I have no confidence the most complex ones would. The Xbox doesn't have the power. I would say my build should play just about everything in FBA XXX Pro and more.
The-Ice-Man
How about Knights of Valour? That almost worked fine on FBA-XXX Pro 1.29. The sound stuttered but it was playable.

Is it difficult to emulate the CPS2 QSound algorithm? I keep hearing people say that the Xbox does not handle it accurately in any of its emulators. What do you think about that, nes?

From what I can remember, QSound isn't properly emulated in any emulator. The QSound chip is on Guru's "to decap" list (Number 17 [ http://guru.mameworld.info/decap/index.html ], and has been for quite some time.

It's possible that they either suspect it is the same as one of the other games, guru just forgot, or it is too rare.

any progress report this week NES6502

I'm not adding any more games. The games that work now are the only games I'll be adding. I am trying to fix a few last bugs in the GUI. Then I will release 1.0. Then I will work on fixing anything that crashes the Xbox. If there is nothing, then that will be the final version. It's pretty feature rich so there arn't any more features I'll be adding.

Most games work on my port that work on FBA-XXX Pro. A few PGM games don't. None of the newer PGM or CPS3 games work. I did get D. D. Crew to run but I had to get rid of the GUI. It only ran at around 24 FPS. So it's not worth it. Every game I've tested works in 480i/p, 720p. and 1080i. I haven't found a game yet that crashed the Xbox in HD. I've got most or all of NeoGeo, CPS2, Cave, Psykio, Toaplan, and Sega games working (most running perfectly) thanks to Kenshiro's code and help. The Simpsons, TMNT, TMNT Turtles in Time, Sunset Riders, all run flawlessly in 1080i with software filters at 60 FPS. That's just a small example. In fact, that can be said for nearly all games. I would say the release is within 2 weeks.

Does anyone know if there is anywhere to get WMV movies for FBA? I don't want to buy a membership to EmuMovies (and then have to convert them to wmv) and the RessurextionX videos are all for consoles.

cba.gy
Thanks for the report, im sure lots of users appreciate it.
As far as movies go i personally cant help you with FBA stuff.
I will once the emulator is released as the timing will coincide with me
finishing the NeoGenesis videos im working on.
Great news on the HD speeds with no lock-ups.
Looking forward to it.
CoinOPS COMBUSTION
contact me sometime all videos where done for SD in HD for all 4500 mame games in about 2 days(to convert them to wmv) HD ones also have high bit rate..... I have also made tools to streamline the process as the solutions I found made my life to time consuming and I wanted this done in hours not months. Anyways i have all the games metioned also all dreamcast games etc

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Kenshiro and NES we'll finally get a proper FBA-XXX Pro 1.30.

Probably not long now Ice_Man, it'll be like your bithday everyday.
I think the skin scenario is gonna be a right user mutiple choice.
There will be "loads" to choose from at release time.

design interest before its even released.

Showcase was released via torrents (10GB) which included everything.
Will Legends be available to us via the same process and will it include all roms etc. for us newbies?
I've got the rom set available through BAED 3b, although I'm sure this is well out of date.
An extremely big thank you to NES6502 for all the effort!

You are very lucky to have an up to date rom set!
I was hoping NES6502 might reply re torrent info (are latest roms included etc.).

I honestly can't see that happening, i believe it uses roms that are compatable with FBA.
There are exact details somewhere in this forum i think. Ill have a look for you and see what i can did up.

Mame 0.134 or Final Burn Alpha 029706 roms, but dont quote me on that.

cba................please you are so so so wrong on everything, vidoes in showcase are 4 times better res than rx and 2 times better bitrate my god this guy has no idea but sprouts out...also the best availabe videos ive found on the net. Its funny ive seen his videos and my team removed all of them from our SNES and MEGADRIVE Stuff due to low res and low bit rate. I cant beleive this guy he just blets stuff out like its fact when its so wrong (rx videos = 320x240) (Showcase = 640x480) for horizontal games. This is why I want a private forum so I can help people out without a few vocal people telling you guys stuff that is so false its not even funny and not once not twice not 3 times but pretty much everytime I look I see false information (badly researched maybe not even looked at in most cases id guess but told to you guys as if its true and by an expert)

please cba tell me im wrong? if not please admit your wrong for once please admit your wrong for once it so painfull seeing the new experts killing inocent users with there info. Is this an insult no its fact please guys ill print tonight so real info on the stuff and you guys can make your own mind but look above and read his post and even research it I know you will see he is far from right and actually misleading you guys

Big Ass Emulator 3b is as far as i'm aware FinalBurnAlpha XXX (correct me if i'm wrong?).
So, as BAED is 5 or 6 years old I presume there now must be more rom additions.
If NES6502 drops the full package on to the torrents then great, I can grab what I'm hoping for.
If not - then how do I go about getting the roms missing from BAED 3b in order to bring it up to Final Burn Legends?
BritneySPAIRS - Showcase is a masterpiece!

Oh shit good news! cant wait hopefully it will be a FULL complete build if not who cares...thanks NES

To those wondering if nes6502 will release a 'full' build with ROMs included, I would guess (and hope) that this is unlikely as it's generally considered extremely bad form for an author to distribute illegal ROMs with an emulator. I'm sure someone will package it altogether as a torrent somewhere though.
NEIL222
That, and nes' history of releasing on xbins, then you find your own roms.
Good to hear about the release date nes. biggrin.gif

I'm extremely psyched for Final Burn Legends. I don't post much but I read this forum daily. I just wanted to say thanks to NES and best of luck with the release tomorrow. I feel like Christmas has come early!

BTW, Can I keep Final Burn 1.1 installed or will this build interfere with FB1.1?

It won't interfere. In fact you'll want to keep it installed since the Final Burn 0.517 core is not part of Final Burn Legends.

I hope people understand Final Burn Legends isn't perfect. It's a 1.0 release. There are still things to fix. There are also probably bugs I missed. However, if I wait until it's perfect, it will never get released. I think the 1.0 version is a good (not perfect) first release.
