Some guy attempted to back up everything on Geocities.

http://reocities.com/

Why would you save any of that garbage? If you ask me closing geocities cleaned up the net a bit. Anyone who knew anything about anything was hosted somewhere else. There was a reason people called it Geoshitties.

Geocities, what myspace was before myspace became myspace.
emsley
Myspace is pretty sucky.

I actually have pretty fond memories from the old free hosts... namely AngelFire. That is where I started my first site and where I learned HTML. I thought they were a great user-friendly starting point for new users. Unfortunately, all of these services have fallen WAY behind the times and their importance is non-existent. I can respect him for wanting to back up GeoCities though, it's a part of the internet that will be lost forever. At the same time though, I would never expect Yahoo to keep it going indefinitely - I think they picked the right time to kill it off.

I made a Geocities site to host all my sprite rips from SvC Chaos and my sprite edits.
emsley
^ better save them while you can!
Skythe
I still have the edits. I don't care about the rips since you can get them anywhere now.

Angelfire, What about Tripod!? Homestead!? Netfirms?!
Inky
I had a homestead back in the day.

Geocities and homestead FTW!

Just now I had to find something on Geocities (emulators by James the Animal Tamer), and Reocities saved the day..
Shibathedog
Really? I would think everything would be someplace else by now. Nice!
Hera
I was always a Tripod girl. Don't know why...

What I said was not relevant.
