Let me start this official thread here.

I, for one, can't wait for this game. This is the game that I has been waiting for two years since it is announced! My only hope is that they do fix the netcode for this as T5DR Online and SCIV have shitty netcode. I really, really hope they managed to fix this and give us SFIV or Blazblue's quality netcode.

Can't wait to use Dragunov online tongue.gif

And to start off the thread, let me put in the viral vid for T6.....

the first viral

The trailer

....and the opening sequence....

ENJOY!

According to MrWiz (from SRK) the netcode is the exact same as TDR a.k.a. Shit. BandaiNamco not stepping up to use GGPO-like (like BlazBlue, for the record, BB>SF4 netcode) netcode = fail.

FUCCCCKKKKK!!!! No wonder the achievemnts/Trophies do not have many online achievements/trophies. Very disappointing from Namco Bandai especially when other companies like Capcom and Arc System is doing so great in term of online. Is it because they are taking the SNK's route, using a Japanese company to test online, where they only make sure Japan do not lag??? WTF?!?

Look like I will use this for practise and play competitively on arcades then sad.gif

EDIT: If you listen to Markman's podcast at SDTekken, he mentioned that the netcode is better than SCIV and T5DR. Hopefully what he says is true.

It better work well.... If not thats bad news indeed... I was looking forward to the complete and absolute destruction of all of you...

I need this Joystick completed by release... I have a couple of years rust to knock off too. I hope to attain my previous level quicklike, and since it's a new game, attain a new level of expertise. Out of all the fighting games, Tekken was my shit. So I'm quite happy, even if it means I gotta play against my new acquaintances here in VA... (if online sux) for a decent game.
Devia Eleven
All I want to do is play Tekken 6 like how I played all of the previous Tekkens, grab a bottle of water, complete the game with all characters, and then unlock even more features using guides, play Tekken Force, and stare at the game case until I find it boring to do so.

Whut?!? huh.gif FYI, all characters are unlocked from the start for arcades and online (which make sense). Only in Scenario Mode are the characters locked. Playing through Scenario Mode will unlock more characters to be used in that mode, and you will unlock the prologue and the CGI endings through the mode. Basically Scenario Mode = Story mode now.
Fatal Rose
I want this game!!!!! Imagine if it gets delayed.

They aren't considering the load of users that will be playing. Which is what Capcom didn't really for see either. I took my statement out of context when I said "the exact same", apparently it's similar to TDR's netcode is what he really did say (he corrected himself on irc) at the time I posted it. I really do hope the online is better, considering TDR and SC4's are trash in comparison to SF4 and BB.
Skythe
Wow, imagine that. I'm not caring.

Well, look like the X360 version has been leaked. I wonder whether our local pirate blogger will post something about it biggrin.gif

If everything go smoothly, I will get my copy tomorrow vb_bounce.gif vb_bounce.gif vb_bounce.gif vb_bounce.gif

Keeping my fingers crossed......

I got it but haven't played it yet. I may be able to get some time with it later today. It is wave 4 so I dunno if it is even gonna work. From what I've heard the online is disabled until release.
Fatal Rose
I can't contain myself!!!!

I only got about 30 minutes with the Scenario mode or what ever it is called. It is cut scene city. I mean like a loading screen then a long ass cutscene. then a loading screen then another cut scene, then a loading screen, then a short stage. rinse, repeat. in 30 minutes I played 2 stages. then I got an unreadable disc error and decided I'd had enough for one day. I'll write a new disc at lower speeds tomarrow morning and see if that helps with the slow loading screens and unreadable disc errors.

You need to install to HDD for faster loading.
Inky
It wouldn't install, kept giving errors. I need to re-burn it in the morning.
L.S.D
Installing my copy into the PS3 as we speak. Can't wait!!!
Inky
I got some time with it earlier today. senario mode gets a bit better after the first few stages. still not awesome though. graphics are OK, not jaw dropping like VF5 though. VF5 is still the best looking fighter of this generation. COntrols and gameplay are classic Tekken, dial a combos. nothing new there. I don't really like that style of gameplay all that much but it's what some people love. I hope the online will be OK, I've been playing with the standard controller cuz I didn't want to dig out my stick, but next time I play I will use my TE.
L.S.D
My take on T6.

Graphic is just like the arcade, so I am happy enough. As what Inky said, VF5 seems to look better than T6 although both came out at the same time. Gameplay is very much intact, I just wish I have a stick to play it with sad.gif Scenario campaign is a hit or miss. Changing target is a hassle, but it is definitely better than the Devil jin mode in T5 (?!?). Too many cutscenes though.

the endings for the characters are Tekken-ish, but one nice touch is how they are tying up some storyline with each other (example: marduk/king armor king storyline & Asuka/Lili/Panda storyline). Lee's ending is superb & funny (I am sure Fatal Rose will be happy to know that tongue.gif)

Now, hoping that online will not be disappointing.
Krosigrim
Alright... 24 hrs until I have Tekken. The guy I work with just so happens to be a real big gamer. Imagine my luck! I don't really go out and since Im new in town, finding a game head like myself is not so common. He claims he is pretty good... so I gotta brush off my rust and get on it.
Inky
Imagine this..
I'm playing ghost mode with my bad ass Kazuya, customized to look tough and not like a reject from Dragon Ball Z. my wife is sitting on the couch reading a magazine.
and she looks up just in time to see me get KOed with a huge combo from a Kangaroo.....

yeah I'm never gonna live it down, and that's why I hate Tekken. fuckin Kangaroos..

hahahahahhahahahahahaha

I'll never understand why Tekken has characters like that.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks Tekken looks better then VF5, I still have to play the game for myself though.
L.S.D
Oh wow, online sucks ass. Namco really did not listen to the requests of gamers for netcode like SFIV or BB.

Player match is ok as you can invite friends whom you know have good connection.

Ranked match is a problem though.

1. You can't choose your opponents. The game will find one player randomly to fight with you.
2. You ARE COMMITTED to the match once an opponent is found, even if he/she has very bad connection. You can't
back out of it.

I enter a match where the player keep doing uf+3/4 or d+3/4. the whole fucking match, and you can either do the same or just block, the only reaction you can do in time due to the lag.

I really hope they patch this sad.gif Disappointed with online.

On the other hand, i feel that single player still remain solid. A good training ground for you to thrash people in the arcade later tongue.gif
Krosigrim
Hmmm I forgot all about midnight releases. I get it in less than 2 hours. Tekken... it's been too long. Good thing I have the night off.

I recall all previous move lists in game are crap navigationwise. So I'm printing up some sheets right now.
Inky
that sucks hearing about online. Why can't they figure it out by now. people want good connections especially for ranked matches. you should be able to kick or back out of a ranked match before it starts. I figured the competition would be shit low kicks over and over again. there just aren't enough new school gamers who know how to play fighting games. 1000s of nubs and then a wide gap to the 100s of pros with no one in between.

Inky, you might want to try online. According to some source, online is REGION LOCKED. So, if you are having a US region version of the game, you will play with those of the same region only. Not sure how true is that. If you can try and get into ranked match, let see what is the connection and who the player is from.
Krosigrim
Id try it but my box is too far from the router. I havent yet bought a wireless doohicky for the 360.

Dude there were mostly PS3 guys picking up Tekken when I was there last night. I don't get it. Sure 360 is mainstream, but damned if 360 doesn't have it beat out. I was talking to one guy and he says there are at least 12 Tekken pro's he knows of in our local area. "pros" Like tournament guys. I have to seriously tackle this game. Im so freaking weak, Its like starting from scratch!

I have noticed some new moves and removal of others. Well... You know what I mean. Like Brian for instance. They changed up one of my favorite air juggles. I've been seeing alot of this but since its been so long, I cant quite put my finger on what is different from time to time. Alls I know, Is im going to play religiously now, regardless of good or bad online connections. I'll just have to find locals if its bad.

Tekken... we meet again!
Fatal Rose
I have yet to get my hands on this game and it's driving me crazy.

Only thing that bothers me so far is the fact that it seems like it plays to similar to the previous tekkens.
L.S.D
Well, some of the air juggles are changed. And some of the moves have different notations and properties now. It is a good time to relearn.

In term of gameplay, other than online, I really have no complaints, even for Scenario Campaign. SC is not that bothersome, can be completed easily, and short enough to be a minor distraction only. The meat is the single player mode. I really treat this as a training ground to get better so that I can go arcades and kick asses tongue.gif

Learning Bob now, he has lots of fun moves ;p

Gentlemen, welcome to Footsies 6: Dash Canceling & Juggling edition.
Inky
YeAh I played about 10 player matches.
Lag + long ass juggles = not fun.
I'm done. Dragon age is coming out, fuck this noise.
L.S.D
Look like this is going to be another KOFXII online. Is it a trend to get shafted by Japanese companies nowadays for your hard earned money?

Anyway, almost completed SC, have reached Kazuya stage. As Inky said, SC is getting better in later stages. Also, have been playing with local friends daily, it has been fun with no lag. I still avoid ranked matches for now until they confirmed it has been fixed.
Wizard
<@tzukaZONE> blood red is number 3 on t6br xbl leaderboard lol
<Yaz|Beeze> i beat him like 10 times
<BentoBox> I blame lag
<Yaz|Beeze> i actually dont know anything about the gentlemen, just heard he was a big deal in the tekken community
<Yaz|Beeze> which is right up there with being the best bowler in america
<Nanaya> lol
<jaysimon> lol

Can you confirm ink who is top 3 in t6 on xbl?
Fatal Rose
I am enjoying game thus far, I will have a review up soon.
Fatal Rose
So far VF5 is a lot better. Not just because of the graphics but everything overall. Don't get me wrong, Tekken 6 is a great game and I am totally addicted to it, but it kinda looks and feels like T5 on steroids.

When it comes to a package as a whole, T6 is a better home console port. You get more bang for your buck for sure. Tekken's game play is fun and addictive but its the same fight engine we've been using since the original T5. I was disappointed with VF5's lack of gameplay upgrade but Tekken's is ridiculous. Tekken is not a bad game by any means, I just think it's engine has kind of stagnated the same way VF's has sadly. Tekken's gameplay seems a bit more dated though.

Hopefully the long rumored VF vs Tekken will come out soon and breathe new life into each series.
Wizard
Tekken's fine at the moment. It's Sega who has to be worried. With constantly shafting fans with no console ports of VF5 or VF5R, shafting arcade owners to rent equipment instead of buying it, barely any advertisement at all, and most important: no community support, VF will die a very, very, very quiet death. Namco has been doing the right things into getting everyone hyped for Tekken (except for their online support, which still sucks shit. GGL is gonna have a field day with entrees). Take pages from Capcom with all their SF4 support (National Tournaments in different regions and co-sponsoring them, backing the K-SF4 League, actually listening to feedback for balance (and to a lesser degree, who will be in SSF4), actually admitting that online needs a lot more work especially since HDrmx has a better functionality, but not netcode).

You know what, I do hope Tekken vs Viruta Fighter does happen. But Sega will probably ask for a nice 40% cut in the profits if Namco makes it because we all know how much SNK made with the CVS titles.
Inky
me and Krosigrim tryed to play and could not get a game to start at all.
but he did tell me something I didn't know. if you want to have actual control of your dude in scenario you have to use the d-pad. It doesn't ever say anything about that and I was using the analog and wondering why I couldn't crouch or jump. lol.

Lol, you didn't know that?!? The d-pad is very useful and you can juggle the enemies there. I am now stuck at the secret stage Nightmare Train. Just like its namesake, a nightmare.
Krosigrim
I didnt know either. I was running around and using basic comboes. I thought it was nerfed. Then it hit me. I wasnt alone either.

Yea I gotta configure my router and ports and see if that helps at all. If not I'll see about raising my speed as I think were 1 tier below max speed. If it still dont work to hell with it. Virizon just laid fiber optic cable so Ill talk to them.

I want some matches with Tekken, lag or not. lol. I cant even connect.

You know I was referring to gameplay right? Everyone knows Tekken is far more popular then VF.

Devia Eleven
Mixed feelings, bought it for the PS3. The man at Gamestop gave me a "New" Tekken 6, with the case broken, and with the slide cover wrinkled. Kind of didn't like the fact that there were only 40 characters, not saying the character choice wasn't reasonable. I wanted to be able to unlock the characters, and there seems to be a sparse stage selection. The gameplay is great, but the modes aren't very dynamic.

I've played the Scenerio Campaign mode with Law for about 5 stages, a bit repetitive but probably better online.

I want them to make a Tekken Tag Tournament 2, with all characters, which is, I beleive around 65.
