Here's a new version of M.U.G.E.N with some modern updates. This version adds support for HD resolutions, victory screens, language localization, and some enhanced data formats. 1.0 is backwards compatible with characters from the 2002.04.14 beta.

This is a release candidate so it might be buggy. Please report any issues on our forum.

Unbelievable. What, Elecbyte suddenly had a change of heart and decided that MUGEN shouldn't be dead and buried and still has it's uses? Now if we'd only start seeing something remotely interesting and playable instead of yet another "I ripped a a whole fucking lot of characters, stages and backgrounds and created the VS fighter that makes all other VS fighters obsolete". Read: an amateurish-looking "game" with Goku and 200 other random characters with zero attention paid to playability and balance.

Oh yeah, users can now reach a whole new level of suck with HD at their fingertips.

In all seriousness though, nice to see them back, no matter how unlikely it seemed.

Magnificant, now If only Mortal Kombat: Blood Storm magically appeared as well.

I would like to see them add netplay with a lobby. But I guess everyone would be playing as whatever character is the most broken.
and make it easier to add characters and such. as it is now. I just don't have the patience to build my own Mugen.

Dude all you do is open a file and enter the name of the character Is your attention span that short :/

yeah pretty much biggrin.gif

to do it right with assigned stages and music is a little more involved then that. not to mention the general douchebaggery of the Mugen community and the way they treat characters like national secrets.

I never got into MUGEN, but it's nice to see a new version appear.
I would like it mire, to see it going open source to get it portet to different consoles, but I don't think it will happen.
But I wouldn't have thought, that a new version will appear, so we will see.
