So there isn't that much information besides its announcement a while back along with some casting information but since its such a popular anime I figure theres going to be opinions on it.
What do you guys think of this? I'm deathly afraid of Keanu as Spike. I don't want this to suck but what can you really expect.

But keanu....ehhh...for one, I never seen keanu as a lucky go happy cool guy

Spike always had that cocky smile he did in CB, usually around women.
I dont think Keanu has that "coolness" Spike portrays.

Anyone can see the obvious difference and style, but the trick can K break away from robot mode while pulling off cool moves.

Well.... I was already convinced that any kind of originally Japanese (or any asian story) serie adapted in hollywood... won't be something to consider as good... what I really hate most is the idea of adding "cool north american" blond guys" as main characters... what does a north american have to do with Dragon Ball? Monkey King (Forbidden Kingdom)... and Cowboy Bebop... ? please!! lol! 
All I can expect... at least... is to see who is going to be Faye Valentine... and Julia... I really loved Julia´s character design... that's why I hate the ending... lol
About Spike... what about Bruce Willis? he was a real "bad ass" ... hahha!

If its centered around RED EYE... I wonder if they'll even put Julia in it.
Spike uses a form similar to Jeet Kune Do right? I don't see Keanu being able to flow in combat like Spike does.

In an interview, Watanabe stated "I've never officially said that he died. At this point, I can tell you that I'm not sure if he's alive or dead." He also stated that he believes fans would be upset if there was a continuation.
I was like, wow, if only i heard this when i really loved loved the show. But would you CBBP fans actully hate it if they made a continuation? THen again, masterpieces like these can rarely be continued.

Personally, I'd hate it if there was a sequel. CBBP raises the bar pretty high you know. It should be left at that. It's a wondrous experience as is, and some things are meant to be flashes of brilliance once in history.

Anyone who has seen the anime would agree. As much as I'd love to see more CB, it just wouldn't work right unless they introduced a whole new storyline/set of characters. It would have to be like a Final Fantasy sequel, similar themes, but thats about it.
I dunno, at least showing him 2 months later alive or Faye coming to him and saying lets go home or some shiz like dat.
