well I haven't used it for a wile and I was playing SFIII and when I exist it (hit Esc) it froze on me I tried it again (hit the Esc key) and it froze is this a problem with mame plus?

Never happened to me before. Try a newer/different version of Mame? Mame/32/Plus/FX etc etc.

You might want to update that MAME Plus of yours, seeing how the current version is 0.129u2
