Id love to just throw these shitboxes threw a wall. "Red Light Of Death" Just came on my xbox. Thank god it is covered but not the point you would figure since i bought mine like 3years after it came out you would figure a bunch of over paid geeks could fix this problem.
Robert
Another one bites the dust....
Devia Eleven
What was the error code?
Trixx_07
i think it was like 72 or something i checked all the wires and everything its toast there morons and motherboard is fried because they over pay morons who cant make decent smart designs. and now iv been fighting with them for this damn box there sending me to replace my xbox seems they cant do nothing right.
Tynvar
That's why I don't have an xbox360. I would have to ship it to the US to get it fixed. FAIL.

my nephews ps3 got the yellow light of death just last week ended up getting a refurb.
dont bother going to the darkside it aint any better.

The XBOX 360's library makes up for it's hardware failures.
Robert
When it's failed, the library isn't going to get it working again.

That's true, but it isn't like a problem cannot be fixed.

It's best to use good ways to prevent it from failing.
Trixx_07
well i dont see why they know they have had this issue since they came out and still havent found a solution.
ken_cinder
They have, you just don't own the solution. They can't permanently fix bad design on existing hardware.

They should atleast give the people who bought over the basic coverage a decent system in return instead of making everyone send back multiple systems. one of my friends has already gone through 4 consoles.
(XBOX)
Im gonna call microsoft to return my RRofD'd xbox elite console, what are the requirements, basicallly i bought mine off a head mod at x-s and he gave me everything included except a receipt...Im not gonna need it right? and it was flashed so are they gonna be able to tell its flashed or that doesnt matter? yeah I know there gonna send me a refurb may be a lite on so on and so forth also how long does it take to get to me..weeks/months?Im in wa so it shouldnt take long right?
please only people who have actually went through this "gay" process respond!
bgmegaman1
Its gonna take two and a half weeks to get it back from the day you ship it out. If its flashed, its a good chance you voided the warranty and they are gonna send you back the same broken 360. It will save you a head ache if you just go on craigslist and find someone that fixes thr RROD. It should cost 40 bucks and it only takes 20 minutes.
Inky
you say it is modded so pull your face plate off, if there isn't a seal or if it has been broken don't even bother sending it back. they won't fix it if the little silver seal sticker is tampered with.
Darken
So we got more that the blue screan of death in Pc XD
Bambi
When I sent my first 360 in I got it back in about a week. I sent mine in November '07, so the time of the year could make it longer to get back.
Shoma
OMG check this out, there was power shock to my house and while i was playing, the tv flickered off and the 360 showed 3 rings!
I was bout to cry but then wen i turned if ott and turned it back on and started playing, it was fine! YOSHA!
(XBOX)

FINALLY lmao. after two months of screaming at them to find my console because they had lost it in there repair department. Gave me a free 1month Live card for the problem caused by there console but i think they give that to everyone who has the Red Light problem.
Inky
yeah they give everyone one month free.

I got that when mine came back from repair, but the damn machine started failing on me after one days use. So sending it off a second time I included a short letter. I didn't think it was extreme to ask for more compensation than just another 1 months xblive.

~

does anyone here have a jasper motherboard, if so how long have they had it? I really hope all red ring issues have been knocked out with this new motherboard.
ken_cinder
Mine is a Jasper, but I've only had it a couple weeks now I think, and barely played it. My brother in law has a launch system that is still running to this day, and it runs noticeably hotter and noisier than mine.

We don't cram our systems inside cramped cabinets and entertainment centers though.........

The new dashboard seems to help solve the heat issue.

Game installation = no disc running = less heat generated.

Fat chance on that logic, a hard drive generates far more heat than a DVD drive. Neither one is or can be responsible for failures of the RROD kind.

The local pirates says they have to repair less RRODed X360 since the new dashboard is available. And the box run quieter now.

I didn't either, had wide out in the open with plenty of space around it. Funkiest thing about when it RR'd, I hadn't actually used it for a few days, infact it had been the first time in a while it had been switched off for more than 24 hours. Now that I've looked things up, wish I'd tried that towel method to fix the red rings, rather than have to wait weeks for MS.
