Full Version: I plugged the old N64 back in
1Emulation.Com > Nintendo > Nintendo 64
Explosive Misanthropy
Yeah, I plugged the old baby back in... Has some problems, as do most systems do.
but none less, the ugliness of the system hurts my poor eyes, and the controller doesn't feel right anymore. I miss the way it used to be. I used to get excited over 007 hahahaha yeah... that game looks like complete and utter crap. It just shows how much more advanced real game systems are getting (real because Nintendo is coming out with some gnarly looking games... and all the others come out with some beautiful crap.)

Nes still has a place in my heart though, always will. I have like 90 games for it, or rather I used to, now they're scattered all over the place at friends houses, not that it matters, I don't think an NES or it's game will ever be worth anything, only sentimental.
No one collects nickelodeons.

Anyway, yeah... but Star fox is still the best on N64.
fumanchu
starfox really, you have got to try sin and punishment(yeah i know sounds like some wierd sad-masochist type-thing).it only got a jap release so grab an emu and download this one.

Sin & Punishment and Mishief Makers were developed by Treasure, so it's no wonder why these games in particular are made of awesome.

Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Paper Mario are my picks.
Krosigrim
Majora's Mask? Really??? I thought I was the ONLY one who thought it was cool. I never beat it... all that going back over and over collecting the masks and whatnot...
Explosive Misanthropy
I beat the crap out of Majora's mask, and I loved it. Got all the masks, too. So, booya! in your face Willy-Nilly.

Ever play forsaken?
that game was alright, but I also played a lot of 007.

I have a lot of games on the 64, a lot of bad games, too.
Krosigrim
Hey...... I had too many games on my plate... AND the Wii was flocking up, remember. It would load a game like .05% of the time. Damn first gen Wii. To hell with that paperweight. Yea EM's mom had a compilation disk, with all sorts of Zelda N64 games. She even had some remastered Ocarina of Time. The world map was the same, but the dungeons were redesigned and harder.
gymnist1026
Super Smash Brothers

No contest one of the best games ever...between that and mariokart (since no one brought Goldeneye or Perfect Dark....) still provide endless hours of awesomeness....
ken_cinder
Turok!!!! Don't play the PC port, it's just not the same.......Turok 2 is ok. Never played Rage Wars.
ME!
N64 is the only Nintendo system that I never owned. MY buddy Geo had one, but I can't remember what games he had and what not. That whole time period is really just a haze of smoke, booze, girls and waking up in places where i have no clue where I am. What's also strange, is that I've never really had any interest in playing any of the games on the N64... a few people told me they would rank it the worst system from Nintendo... atleast at the time anyway. I might have played the Zelda games, though. Idunno.
Hera
I absolutely adored Ocarina of Time and 007. I played those constantly. I wasn't too impressed with Majora's mask. I beat it and it was totally disappointing. The last battle was way too simple and anti-climatic in my opinion. I enjoyed playing MarioKart but don't get me started on the Castlevania one.....horrid horrid work.

aaaah I wish I had a working N64, but I bet it looks like ass on my HDTV.

totally want to revisit 007, mario64, clay fighter, and starfox, oh and Bad Fur Day, that game was hilarious.

I did the other day and your not missing much, lol. Goldeneye was my love but looks like trash now. Mario 64 and Star Fox are still great but I never really had alot of fun with it after beating them. Killer Instinct, Battle Tanks and all the wrestling games were my favorites. Whenever I go to the barbershop we have a 64 in there with all the great 64 games except KIG sad.gif . Its good times all over again

Lol people get mad but I still powerslide in Mario Kart like I did years ago when we played
Hera

do you do that cheap shortcut in wario stadium? (right at the beginning, using the slopes to jump to the other side) that one was my favorite.

Yeah we had a set of rules through regarding shortcts though. Everything was legit besides that 2nd shortcut in Wario Stadium right after you jump over the gate ( We couldnt do it again right away) and then the instant lap in frappe snowland. Great game I still play Mario Kart to this day on my pc

Me and my mates still bust out some Mario Kart every now and again, but we have to have it hooked up to his SD TV because it just looks horrible on the LCD.

The N64 had a few good games, but I don't understand its loyalists. The Zelda games were fine, and I enjoyed Mario Kart well enough, but the PSX had a much larger library of games. That isn't to say that quantity takes precedence over quality, but not only was there a larger number of good titles for PSX, there was also more variety.

I do have to say that Mystic Ninja rocked, though.

Also, Perfect Dark and 007 = LOL get a PC.

I was the master on the Xena fighting game.

I enjoyed many games on the 64.

Diggin' up bones!

I had an N64, not much there really, I can't think of one game I truely loved on that system.

My N64 was sold during my teenage years (stupidly). Anyways, I do remember Perfect Dark being the shit.
Agozer
I remember playing Mace: The Dark Age and GoldenEye quite a bit on my friend's N64. It is kinda true that while the N64 had the type of games that loyalists and video game enthusiast speak with high praise, many of those games that were in their prime during the N64 era, and don't have much staying power these days - for whatever reason. Among non-N64 enthusiast anyway.

Hell, one of the best games on the system never made it out of Japan, until the Wii Virtual Console.
AkihiroZi
Sin & Punishment was a disappointment for me sad.gif. I bought it just because I had Wii points at the time. I can see how back then however it was a big deal.

I saw my friend playing Majora's Mask the other day, that sparked some interest for Ocarina of Time (The "Godly" Zelda game -__-), I can never get past the Deku dungeon without being bored out of my mind. The 2D Zelda's where so much better.
MasterPhW
Best console ever.
