Full Version: vc games are on the net
1Emulation.Com > Nintendo > Nintendo Wii

So a little while ago there was donkey kong country 2 decrypted. Now though that VC game and few others are turning up as wad files that are installable to the Wii menu. The programs that allow this are out there too, so it may not be long before we see every VC game available.

How is it done though? I think it will be patched soon. Most Ive seen are PAL anyways tongue.gif

Now to reverse engineer the emulator!

From the size of the files I'm guessing each file comes with an emu. Unless the manual files are huge.

The manual files are just plain HTML as we've recently discovered, so no... that's not why it's huge. Hopefully, they include a "general" emulator that emulates the entire hardware not just the specifics on a per-game basis... which would be ignorant. So, I guess it's safe to say that it probably includes an all purpose emulator.

I wonder what happens if you take the hacked wad then replace the pal rom file within it with an ntsc rom for the same game?

Pretty pointless.

BUT... timing issues, may not even start up, etc.
Tynvar
But the rom has that info not the other files right. Someone said it was the same as the roms on the net byte by byte right.

pal or ntsc

Yes, that is correct. But there's no telling if the "emulator" packed in with the ROM is only set for NTSC or PAL games as well... I guess we'll find out in the coming weeks (days?).

This has been discussed in another thread. Your news is old.

Could you link both threads into one then to keep this going.
