Bambi
I've looked but can't figure out how to level up fast.
Is there a certain way to do it or is it random? I've leveled up 3 times in the same battle but then I can't get 777 for a long time.
Mooney
Pretty sure it's random.

sad.gif that sucks, I thought there was something I wasn't pushing. The manual doesn't tell you much dry.gif
BlackKnight
That roulette mechanic is, well, plain stupid.
Devia Eleven
What is with Square addiction to adding something new to every Final Fantasy release that sucks more each time.
Bambi
The roulette is fun, but using it to level up zack sucks. It feels very uneven, my Libra materia was master level in the first fight I had.
L.S.D
Just play more missions. More battles = more chance to level up.

I am now stuck at the mission where i have to battle 1000 soldiers. 1000!!!! Damn, that was quite hard.

Currently at lvl 52.
GameCop
Should I play the original Final Fantasy 7 before I play this version?
L.S.D
Yes and no. Yes, if you want to know more on the story. No, as Crisis Core can be played as it is, since it is like separate story which develop background stories for some characters that appear on FF7.
Wizard
No. You can start off with this and then do FF7. Consider all the games as standalone for the most part, theres enough content to make it seperate, with all the terms and all.
L.S.D
but Crisis Core kinda spoilt FF7 in some ways tongue.gif
Bambi
And then you can watch the movie Advent Children and see more of the story

Yeah, because Crisis Core is "just" a Prequel, isn't it?
It's the only game I would buy a PSP for. Just because I loved my FF7 on my little PSX that much.
Agozer
Since Crisis Core is more of a prequel to Final Fantasy VII than anything, no. Then again, Final Fantasy VII itself is such a phenomenon that even if Crisis Core is a prequel, you should really play the original game before you play any of the other FF7 games.

Seeing how the connection between Zak and Cloud was only touch ever so little in the original game, Crisis Core is one of the finer additions to the FFVII canon.

So uh...

Before Crisis (prequel) -> Crisis Core (prequel) -> Last Order (anime, prequel) -> Dirge of Cerberus (prequel) -> Dirge of Cerberus: Lost Episode (prequel) -> Final Fantasy VII (main game) -> Advent Children (CGI movie, sequel)
AkihiroZi
I thought dirge was set 6 years after the main game? 2 after the movie?

Ah, I think you're right. So, that would make Dirge of Cerberus: Lost Episode the "final" sequel.
Wizard
Yes, Dirge is at the end of the timeline.
Mag
dodge dirge at all times, if your curious about the gorgeous CGs, I would youtube it or something, otherwise it;s a failed devil may cry like ripoff.

Is Dirge of Cerberus really that bad? I'm curious.

P.S. Moka is awesome.
Devia Eleven
Don't play Dirge.
BlackKnight
It is really bad.
Bambi
I thought Dirge of cerberus was easy, I liked it
AkihiroZi
I liked dirge, but it was so overhyped.....

My friend bought it and then just gave it to me >.>...

I "enjoyed" it , leave it that way.

hold on.. you've never played FFVII?! I don't even like final fantasy or JRPGs in general and I beat that one.
L.S.D
We all know GC just came out from a rock. Heck, his best picture is the one posing with Marilyn Monroe! How old school can you get? tongue.gif
Wizard
So old school before the term was even coined.
