I have been downloading roms for my nds about 80% of them are very successful but sometimes is says unable to read or load data! Does anyone no why? Can you please help

If you aren't already, use NO$GBA 2.6a, you will get outstanding results.

He's using a real DS with an R4.

Any rom you load that doesn't work, has a bad header or is corrupt. Download another one.

It's as simple as that. I have an R4 too, and have had this happen. Roms work in no$gba, but not on R4, downloading another one worked.

No I have not! As I said I am new on this and I purchased the R4 preloaded. I have not been able to load the latest version from the R4 website, I was hoping that someone on the forum had done it and could explain to me how to do it.

BTW he downloaded many free homebrew games none commercial.

Just download the latest firmware off of the r4ds website, delete _ds_menu.dat and _ds_menu.sys and then just unzip the files into the root of your SD card (if your card is E: unzip it to E:\

btw, don't be nervous about this, there's no way it can kill your cartridge, the worst case scenario is that it scrambles your SD card, (so make backups of your savegames), and you just have to reformat it.
