The game has now been released in Japan.

Has anyone played it yet? If so, what did you think?

Do you think it's better than Super Mario Galaxy?

Tell me all about it, as this is the next game I'll be investing in for my Wii.

I've been playing it a bit lately. My friend and I whored out Vs. at Shadow Moses to unlock Snake... had some drinks... and then whored out Vs. some more to unlock Sonic (300 or so games :/) and a few of others on the way.

My thoughts, for someone new to SSB;

Snake's UAV move is gay.
The SMB side-scrolling stage owns.
Fighting Ridley owns.
Super Bowser owns.

It's the kind of party game that fighting fans will find some cool things in, but overall find it too shallow and move on after bashing around with it for a while. I'm not sick of it yet, but can't see it holding my interest for too long.

PS. I personally don't think much of Galaxy.

Me and a friend of mine played for nearly 7 hours the main story modus in CoOp, it's great fun and sometimes also really hard.
At 48% atm and playing it in hard difficulty. The story is funny, the gfx is great and the fighters are well balanced...
But Japanese isn't my favourite language (means: I don't understand it!) so it's sometimes hard to use all the features, like the stickers etc.
But IMO a really great game with lots of content and much fun to play!

Is is true that when games are released in Japan first, the American release gets revised and is fixed of little bugs that the Japanese version might have had.

Only if the Japanese print has been on the market for months prior and there's either a big problem or they want to make up for the delay in some way. For this game I'd say you're looking at a straight localisation and little else.

Soundtrack is better than sex. Nuff said.

Back to topic. I always think the SMB series is a disgrace to fighting game. Maybe I am thinking in a single player view since I play most games alone (that changed with the X360 though). I mean, how fun can it be if you bashing the AI only? I tried that with One Piece series on PS2 last time, and it was not that lasting.

First of all.... One Piece is the worst game u would dare test something like that on...

Secondly, has anyone ever heard of the Wii making downloaded content for SSBB!?
I know unreal championship had download maps and even downloadable chars.
BUt when u try to compare xbox live to Wii's wi-fi.....pfffttt!
