DS2Win Fusion is a program designed to allow you to do ALL the things you could do with your PC, harnessing the
wireless capabilities and touch screen for maximum usability. Play movies, games and browse the net, check emails,
the sky is the limit! All you need is a windows PC and a wireless router or card.

This is an customized build of the Win2DS client and server, both the client and server have been enhanced
to provide new features, higher speed and service quality.

Note: This release will probably need to be DLDI patched before using (unless you have a R4DS like me and its done automatically)

client - FAT support added (DLDI patching now required) only IP address is saved for now
client - disabled screen updates while lid is closed to save battery power

Gave the client a spin after playing with the server settings. I cannot connect, the server isn't responding.

I know my network settings are correct, other apps work fine, and netstat shows my DS communicating.



No firewall or anything blocking ports/UDP traffic.

Oh and another note, your other Unofficial 0.8 here works fine. Gotta be something wrong with this release.

Works fine for me, both client and server. The DS lags a bit on zoomed pics, but that's just because I'm far away from my router. Haven't tested any movies yet.

Ok it does work for me too, but only in auto mode. Strange, as my official WiFi settings are identical to what I put in under Manual here.
There must be a problem with manual configuration then.

And if it helps you work out kinks with the server, the movie thing only seems to cause a crash when it's pointed to a folder with more than just AVI files in it.

Okay, I got r4, tried to get it working, it tries to connect and in the server log it says that password was rejected, or something like that, It just repeats it so fast I cant read it.

Thats strange.. did the previous version (0.80f) work for you?

Anyone else having this problem? It should work with a blank password.

Make sure caps lock is off, or make sure password isnt too long perhaps?

in virtual desktop mode, never minmize or maximize the "ds server window" from the ds.
it goes waaaay crazy. first the ds stuck, youve to touch ds server with your pc mouse. after that, a lot of lines scroll down in the history tab and ds does crazy stuff.

first time: i got two fullscreen windows.
second time: full screen window went into blue pixeled massacre+
third time: bottomscreen went white for 3 sec. than just worked fine :/

Okay, I got it to work...

I just tried it again and it was fine. don't know how or why, but I don't care, it works.

I also learned not to mess with the server from the DS. It does go crazy like the last person said.


Also, I was wondering, If I am away from home, can I enter my computers IP (not the 192.168.blah blah blah) and still access my desktop?

I didnt have that problem when using the DS to click on the server, but I'll test more thoroughly and see what I can find out.

For future bug reports if you could specify what CPU you have, and what settings you are using, I'd be very interested to see what kind of PC hardware people are using to run this, and if it could be a factor.

mine is still very slow but my comp is slow so it my be useless for me

on ds y zoomed screen is set to fast and the full is set to off

I've tried changing all the server settings from DS and haven't managed to re-produce the error thats being reported. Could someone tell me exactly what they were changing at the time, and do you see garbled output on your PC or DS or both?

How do I use the movie player feature?

This app works great with my CycloDS EVO! I can access my computers flawlessly from my home network. Thanks! I have this installed on my laptop and my security camera computer and can view my cameras without having to be in front of the computer! When I try to access a computer remotely from another network it works for a few seconds then freezes. It will connect and I can see the screens refreshing for a bit then some parts of the screen become discolored and the program becomes unresponsive. I can't bring up the menu or keyboard. I'll try adjusting the the quality settings and see if that helps. Has anyone else had this problem?

try turning down the refresh rate to normal rather than ultra when on external network, i'll try adding some better recovery code for lossy/internet connections soon

since it support FAT it shoild be easy.

Would a monochrome screenshots option reduce file sizes and speed updates a bit in higher resolutions?
I use 1280x720 in my widescreen monitor, and ds2win is painly slow with this size. I have to change it to 800x600 just to use it. 800x600 is 4:3, very bad when seen in a 720p widescreen.

Hey thanks for the update it works great. The only question i have is how do you play videos. I clicked on a folder that had a avi video in it then i turned my ds on went to virtual desktop and no video was playing i'm pretty sure i'm doing something wrong.

I run it at 1440x900 with no problems on my widescreen monitor - could be your CPU speed - try changing the quality settings and make sure you aren't running any other CPU-intensive programs at the same time.

I tried it with 3D Pinball for window (which comes with Window)
I set "Z" and "/" to kick the ball but it don't work
but "F2" for start new game work properly.

Also, I tried it with Little Fighter2 (www.lf2.net)
buttons don't work

btw, How do I use Movie player?

Put tons of AVI files in a folder, then point the server at that folder - if it can play the AVI it will work, if it can't play, it will skip them until it finds one that is compatible.

I've tested Divx/Xvid and plain AVIs and they all seem to work, but some of the weirder encodings don't work.. this may be because of the version of the Video for Windows dll I'm hooking into or something.

How fluid is a movie supposed to play on the DS end? It plays normally on the host, being executed by the DS, but the actual video on the DS is very choppy. Perhaps I missed something but is 'watchable' movies possible, or just executable? Also, there was no sound on the DS end. Is that normal as well? Thanks and I love this app. Love remote apps on all platforms. Was using one via my cell phone with no luck though

The movie will get max of maybe 5-9 frames per second, and no, sound doesn't work. Make sure you turn on the keyboard or turn off the other screen for maximum update speed

When I go to set the custom keys before using the gamepad mode I can't seem to set any of the keys to letters of the alphabet or numbers. When I do the program just shows my key selection as blank and don't work in the gamepad mode. Other keys work though like the function keys, the arrow keys, Ctrl, Shift and so on.

It setted just only it show as blank

If you try to type in notepad it should work but not in some other program

wow dude, runs even faster on my damaged, 2003 toshiba with a 1.5ghz celeron than the old version did on my buddies brand new 2007 imac which has a 2.2ghz dual core processor.

does this only work 1 ds per compy? I tried it with my older yet better lappy and it stops after the password input and stays at waiting. I'm sure it's the old lappy having a different I.P. and things, but for some reason I can't get it running the same way.
so what's your experience with a different compy?

here's a guide I wrote on another thread that will help you:

if it gets to this stage it means

1. Its successfully connected to your wifi network (Your WFC connection settings are correct)

2. Something is blocking communcations on port 8888 UDP *OR* you are entering the wrong IP address

So go to a command prompt and type ipconfig

What it says next to "IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . :" is what you should type in. If you have multiple adapters try all the IP addresses listed.

Otherwise if you are having trouble connecting look at your

1. Windows firewall
2. 3rd Party Security / Antivirus / Firewall software

And either deactivate the firewall (not recommended) or open UDP port 8888

This is pretty much as simple as I can make it, do all this and it is guaranteed to work, provided you have got up to that screen

It has been a great update, i know you are aware of the "great" feature missing, wich is the lack of functioning of custom keys in gamepad mode in certain programs such as emulators (MAME, GENS, ETC...), 3d pinball and games in general...

It would be perfect to have that fixed

lol, this old compy makes it harder than it should be then, I did ipconfig, pushed ok and a little black box with text comes up for a half second then closes its like this old computer hates me or something, or my ds

Thats because you are typing it into a Run box, not the command prompt.

Try typing in "cmd" (winxp) or "command" (win9x) into the run box first, then entering "ipconfig" (winxp) or "winipcfg" (win9x) at the command prompt it opens up.

Alternatively, you can just right-click on your LAN connection (in network connections), select status and then click on the support tab to view your IP address.

Agreed. It IS a great app but just lacks emulator support.

The custom key in game pad mode used to work in the Ver0.8a(if I remember correct)

but after that one, it doesn't work anymore.

Yeah I've figured out what causes this, only problem is that the fix will bring back the old problem of capital letters not working properly.

i think u can but u need to know ur ip adress and i think theres a option in the server app for that...
its also very slow wen being used over the internet so u may need to decrease ur comp resolution and adjust the server...

i know my IP address, but when it has a 2 digit number instead of 3(example... 192.98.128.78) do i put 192.098.128.078? and its stuck on loading
