I have now set up an official server for our community, it will remain a pure server for the most part. With official bonus packs and maybe a few small mods. Anything added will have links provided here for download outside of the game itself, but you may download upon connect if you prefer.

Gametype - Map Vote Allows for choosing gametype.

Maps - Standard maps (BP inc.) + See "Required Files" below

Mutators - Map Vote Mod (Can choose gametype, kick players)

Bot Config - 4 player minimum, Skilled difficulty. 4 or more human players, no bots. Auto balanced teams.

Max Connections - 16

Other Settings - NO Translocator, no don't ask. No friendly fire. Server ICMP patched, so don't get any funny ideas

I have set up a score/commentary bot that will report to the IRC channel on EFNet. Scores and commentary will be reported to #1emu-UT so you will know if anyone is in server, or you can just listen in if you don't have the game or don't want to fire it up and spectate.

UT99 only. For the moment. I think 1emu servers for Q3 and UT2004 would get some action down the line.

I'm sorta set up. I can't install umods for some reason. so hopefully they will all install within game.

You can't be using a RIP of the game and install UMODs, they require the UT setup program.

As for spreading the word, go ahead.

hmmm, I have the Rip but it has the setup program as well.

On that note, I once got a "DE" error or something when trying to connect to a server. Experiment44 also got this error while trying to connect to Cinders server, so I had him remove the de.int and the de.u files. Teck64 says something about adding the ; in the .ini, but all I did was remove these two- de.int and de.u and it works fine.

Well the matches are still touch and go. Usually those who fight, bring it up in IRC. We need more momentum, so perhaps more publicity will work. Cinder has all game modes set up with a voter in place. So you have a chance to play a particular map to your liking. We are having people join from all skill levels, so please join us, and don't worry about being slaughtered. It happens... And besides, how else do you expect to get any better. Just don't go punching holes in your walls.

hmm yesterday when I jumped on to test it connected fine. today it just sits on the connecting screen. I deleted the de.int and de.u files mentioned so i dunno.

Well I never had to move the files before, but when I connected to Reapermans server a month or so ago, it said "de" error or something to that extent. I don't know about it not connecting.... When connecting to Cinders server, I gotta wait a few seconds, sometimes half a minuite.

Ok... I see what you mean. I cannot connect either. But the Internet seems real problematic today. I wonder what is going on? Slow connections and such. I thought it was just me, but now I cant connect to his server, or join IRC through UT either.....

As an update to anyone else, as you two were actually playing with me last night........the server had crashed at that point. It's all good now, and I don't forsee that happening again (I was messing around too much)

If it was UT2004 and/or during the break, i would of joined. School is catching up to me and this weekend im a little busy. Maybe next weekend, just dont quit on me..................I still have to download load it, i mean find it under my bed.

Once you delete the 'de' files, the game should dl them from Cindr's server. After that, just make sure you have BP4, and the other map packs listed on the front page. Then you should be good to go.

I got pwned like crazy. I had to go lick my wounds in the arms of a private wow server.

Cinder had our flag, I had theirs. We were hiding, while our respective teammates looked for us. Well Cinder shot off a redeemer and it went right by me... EM was laughing her ass off, I should have taken a screen shot. Well that night was fun. Last night, I joined a server, to test my skills as we have been playing alittle in Cinders server.... I was doing alright... at first. Then some experienced UT guys showed up, and destroyed me... over and over. So don't get frustrated Inky, as we are not as good as those who destroyed me.

So yea... we need more people! we had... 5 last time at the highpoint. I will try to get a non conflicting time where everyone who is interested can play.

So where do we stand... Rips don't work?

I would play more often guys but due to certain circumstances I doubt I can play for more then a week until summer vacation for the remainder of my school year.

Also, for those of you wondering, my school accepted me back under contract, and I now have nightschool , before breaking my life more then it is, I'll stay away from teh machines till I'm cool.

oh cool its been a looooong time since I played some oldschool unreal, I added it to my umm game purchasing queue but its pretty far down behind some large things.

How is UT2k3 better than 2k4 though? I've never in my life heard that one before.

That stand off was a good match, Teck and Inky came in and I SWEAR a 5 capture match took over an hour. What was the final score? 5-3 or 5-4?
I know I made off with your flag right through the middle of the rest of you duking it out getting back to base with only 17 health left, and Inky finally nailed you and made you drop the flag. I yelled "IT'S OVER!!" as I jumped on the pedestal. lol

Works fine for me. Just make sure you have all the map packs, that your rip is patched to v436, and if you don't have the setup files get the non UMOD Bonus Pack 4 and put the files in their places. Then you should be good to go.

I still haven't found a non umod BP4. so if anyone has a link post it up. I was doing fine without it though. just the rip goty which is already 436.

You bastards.... This UT thing barely got off the ground! Game Cop was supposed to join it too... Well, when I get my internet connected, I'm going to attempt to rally everyone together again.

By all means do, but I'm not sure if I can host the server this time. I've got the PvPGN server on the go now, that supports several games. Hopefully it starts seeing some use.

If possible... would anyone be interested in joining in on some old school UT? We had some sessions going a year ago, and it was great! Yes the game is old... but is it not the best in the series. Old enough for every pc to run it perfectly!

Perhaps it would be possible to rekindle the UT mayhem again. Perhaps I can finish that level and put it on the server as well..........

I'd love to throw up the server again, as everything is still intact, but my main PC is DEAD until my new motherboard gets here.
My laptop could handle running a dedi AND a client at the same time, but it's in constant use so I wouldn't want to share resources for that.

I don't even have that game anymore. I guess I could acquire it again but it's such a pain to get it all updated and what-not just to get killed every 3 seconds by you guys

HAHAHA Whaaaat are you talking about? Where was I the last time you played? I remember our battles, and I remember surviving more of them. Cinder is just rusty. Get Aki Blacknight Cinder and Me and I don't think youll make 2nd in a DM. Or youd really have to work for it.

I seem to recall laying a whupping on you guys pretty bad, on CTF-Lava Giant, including nuking a certain someones butt inches from a capture. Capturing 3 of 5 flags myself.

Stil rusty overall though, yes.

Oh and I don't think I've EVER lost a match in CTF-Coret.

Im unfimilar with alot of the CTF maps you had on there... I need major practice anyway now...
