Hey just replying on here since typing on that 360 controller is a biatch-
There're Akira, Sarah, Eileen and El Blaze. And I checked again just now- no online for the demo. Do you know if region codes of games matter online? I'm thinking of picking up the US version anyway since its cheaper at Play Asia.

Honestly I am not sure. You might want to look into that before buying the US version.

No, you can play with pretty much any region online, though I've yet to encounter any Asian players.

Playing VF5 online has been a blast, I honestly can't recommend this game enough. If you own a 360 and enjoy fighting games then you are doing yourself a disservice for not owning this game.
VF5 has set a new standard for fighting games, and until VF6 comes out this is the fighting game which all others will be judged by.

Is VF5 (or VF for that matter) big in Asia? I am hard pressed finding an arcade machine for it.
On the other hand, Tekken is very popular especially in my region.

Yeah it is from what I have herd, its big in Korea but it is monster in Japan. Number one fighting game in Japan I think, I could be wrong. LSD, you NEED to get VF5 online man, it is awesome. It does not matter to me if you are new to the series, I was helping out a lot of new to VF people earlier today. Now I need to get a PS3 to play Tekken online.
By the way I am buying DOA4 online tomorrow prolly. I played the demo earlier and I thought it was OK but VERY overrated. I will reserve my final opinion of DOA4 till I have the complete version.

As of right now I would say a 360. PS3 does have Tekken 5DR online but man we have been playing that already on the PSP for over a year now I think. I would suggest getting a PS3 a little later. 360 does have VF5 and DOA4 online to play. I know what kind of games you are into, we have been forum whoring for years now, I would suggest you getting a XB360.

It was a few months ago that VF5 has been dominating the arcades in Japan though. I don't know the current rankings, but it's still up there I imagine.
SK has a big VF scene, and so does HK as well.

Modded 360's can go online, just make sure you're using the newest firmware (if it's firmware modded). Modchips are safe as far as I know.

Guess I have to get used to it, been playing VF for the past ten years or so.
To me at least it is way harder to control then Vf or Tekken is.

Well put it this way, I was good at DoA2 about 5 or 6 years ago. This game however has swapped around a bunch of commands needlessly and made all the strings longer for some reason. Its only improvement is in the countering really- the rest is just a bunch of odd changes for me to wrap my head around.

Well 4 is based on Online (Which in turn is based on 2LE) since 3's engine wasn't so good. It's trying to be more "Tekken" like with the aircombos and strings, but it's 3 button control scheme (Counter wasn't a button in the original AC version, it was B+K or P I don't remember) is based on VF's.

Is DOA4 really worth getting into? I was trying to play the demo again but was not feeling it at all. The main character I use was not selectable either, but my second main was (Ryu).
It's just so hard to get a hold of, it's like I just can't grasp it. It's hard as hell to me for some reason.
Specially after playing VF5 so much, playing DOA is like taking a step down.

There was a Hold button. Counter was B+Hold. Throws didn't have a button- it was Hold+Punch.

VF5 is a great game indeed, but i feel DOA4 is just as good, due to it being alot easier to play. Not only that but there are many more options on Xbox Live.
