sometimes. they usually take it with a smile. i'm a big tipper, what is wrong with tipping them?

I didn't realize they could even accept tips. But I guess they don't report it when they get tips (must be a rare thing).
I'd never tip a UPS guy. He's just doing his job delivering packages I paid for. He's not a waitress.

has anyone bought any of these on eBay for real?

Just buy from someone with a good rating. That's usually pretty safe. And use a credit card in case fraud does happen.

Good luck finding a CPS3 board and the game, they run up several thousand dollars. The cabs are a different story altogether depending on what you want. Some basic cabs you find the u.s are the standing upright ones, you could probably find those locally, then theres the japanese h2h cabs which is 2 monitors-2cabs-1 JAMMA board w/ various connectors which you most likely have to order overseas.

SuperSoaka will probably just get his thug friends and steal one.

Crating alone on a cabinet will run you a minimum of $100, let alone the shipping costs (We're talking hundreds of dollars across a few states). You're better off finding a cab you like locally, and then picking up your boards on Ebay.
And yeah, good luck finding CPS3 hardware for a price that won't make you puke. Not to mention, who the hell would want a system with nothing but a handful of clone fighting games. How many friggin SFIII's are there? 4?
Buy a Dreamcast and a jamma setup for it. MUCH cheaper.

He wants to put it in his bar though, Do you really want everyone flocking up your hard work? If he buys one its going to cost more but he probably gets some kind of repair service.

another option would just be to find a local business that sells cabinets. they have at the very least one here in Jacksonville (that I know of... I've been in it. It's pretty cool. I saw cabs, mobos, pinball machines, everything). I'm pretty sure there should be a business close to where you live... just look them up in the yellow pages or something.
just so you know though, your selection will be a bit more limited if you go this route

Yeah, just get a MAME cab, and if there are any problems, sell the mame cab and worry about finding a real SFIII cabinet then.
Edit:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Street-Fighter-III-3rd...1QQcmdZViewItemI still say that you should go with the MAME cabinet.
