Hello everyone.
Some of my PSX Discs have gone missing so I have downloaded the torrents of the games from a website.
When they downloaded I extrated the files into a folder and they have come up as Image Files.
Picture here:
http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/7566/imagedw2.jpg I have tried burning it with Nero, DVD Dycrpter and CloneCD and when I put them in my PSX All I get is "Insert PS CD-ROM" on the error screen.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

pffff, ISObuster works just as well, and can tell you if the CD is bad

Just don't use crap CDs in the first place, and Alcohol has a verify data option if you really want to use it
As long as you have a burner of decent quality (at least has buffer underrun protection) and some media of decent quality you should be fine though, especially since the PSX is pretty forgiving when it comes to that.
I burn all my games for every system in Alcohol 120% at the RAW/DAO setting (Some PSX games will need you to check the Rectify Sub Channel Data checkbox, but most don't, so try it without that first) Also burn the disc at HALF the rated speed on the disc, i read that somehow thats actually better than the lowest speed on most burners anyway.

Umm I'm going to ask the obvious, but Do you have a mod chip on your psx?

I was going to ask the same question, You will need it in order to play burned games.

You don't need physical discs to play PSX games on an emulator, you know.

I know that, maybe his psx isn't modded.

Hiya
yes the PS1 Had a Mod Chip.
Tried everything you said, Tried it with new discs too(Tuffdiscs) and another type of CD-R and I still get the same problem
I have used Nero, Clone CD, DVD Dycrypter and Alcohol 120% and I just get the same problem of it saying "Insert Playstation CD-ROM"
Dunno what else to try.

that disc image is probably just screwed up then, What files are inside when you open it? (although even if they appear right it could still be screwed up)
and do other burned games work fine in the PSX still? Maybe the chip got disconnected or some weird crap.

All new games dont work but the others work fine.
I managed to get Legend Of Dragoon working but as soon as I turned console off it stopped working.
I burnt it at 2X speed using DVD Dycrypter and it worked but now its doing same thing again even the disc that worked wont work....

Just a note: Some games like ff9 [PAL] and Legend of dragoon [NTSC] are protected so if you have a mod chip on your system, it wont run.

In my case..... I haven't been able to make final fantasy 9 to work... there is no problem with the emu... but I surely want to play it on my old console... somehow my latest burned disk doesn't work.,.. an exception is the classic Dukem Nukem and the second disk of Parasitve Eve 1... (this one is quite slow and gets stucked sometimes!)
i'LL try the words that Shibathedog said! but Last time I tried to run alchool in my "vista" OS.... I suffered for a while trying to save computer because it restarted by itself .. lol! I had to go my system back lol....
