Full Version: Need help with setting up Winback mouse controls in Project64

Okay, so I'm looking to play Winback via Project64.

What's holding me back is that I can't figure out how to set up the controls so that I'm using the mouse to aim my weapon. I've got regular movement mapped to the typical WASD set-up, but even with modifiers I can't figure out how to switch the laser-sight to be controlled by my mouse. The only way I can aim right now is with the WASD keys.... damn!

Anyone here also play this game from time to time? If so, would you mind throwing up a screenshot of your controls configuration tabs, or otherwise helping me set up the aiming controls, please?

I'm assuming (although one should never assume anything) that you are using the N-rage input plugin.

Although I can't really help with the screenshots and whatnot, since I haven't played Operation Winback in Project64, you could download the mouse+keyboard profile from N-rage homepage and then edit it to match your preferred button layout.

No, that's no help. Thanks, though. But yes, I forgot to mention that I'm using the latest N-rage input plugin.

I'm hoping someone who is familiar with the game and has played it with Project64 can provide some help.

With the original on N64, the controller stick was used for both regular movement (relative to the camera's position, exactly as in Super Mario 64: walking towards the camera, away from the camera, etc.) and the laser-sight aiming. Similar to emulating Goldeneye or other FPSes with Project64, I've tried using the W-A-S-D keys for the former and the mouse for the latter (successfully in Godeneye and Perfect Dark), but either I'm forgetting something (always possible) or Winback is somehow trickier.

Anyone? There has to be someone here who plays that game.
